Title: The Power of Faith Text: Matthew 9:27-31
1. Faith is the ability to turn misery into happiness.
(Matthew 9:27) As the two blind men confessed, they are poor people. The meaning of this word is ‘to have compassion’, to sympathize with, to have compassion on. has a meaning. It can be seen that from a long time ago, they believed that they were people who needed pity from others and believed that they were poor and unhappy. But as they followed Jesus, they heard rumors of miraculous events that they did not see with their own eyes. They also have the confidence of faith that if they go to Jesus, this misery will end and a bright tomorrow will come. So, Jesus said, ‘Do you believe I am able to do this?’ That is, do you believe that you can do this work that you have believed and asked me to do? To this question, he answered with certainty, ‘It is so, Lord.’ They were healed by faith.
2. The power of faith transforms dark situations into bright situations.
(Mt 9:30) The blind are those who live in darkness. The blind are those who cannot see. In the meaning of the word 'blind', it is sometimes referred to as being in a 'dead end' where the road ahead cannot be seen. Or, it is a state in which there is but is not seen because it is obscured. When your eyes are opened, you are freed from all these things. David confessed: Psalm 13:3 “Remember me, O LORD my God, and answer me, and open my eyes, lest I sleep in death” Dear saints! We must not let our hearts or souls become blind. This is a fatal disease for saints. May we have the eyes of faith to trust in the Lord, free from the worldly things that darken our spiritual eyes. Sin blinds us.
3. Faith turns weakness into strength.
(Mt 9:30) The blindest and weakest weakness of this blind man were his eyes. All people can see the world, but they cannot see it themselves. Because of this, they are despised, marginalized, and unable to lead a human life, and they are not recognized by others.
But he met Jesus Christ, and he believed in him, not just meeting him. His faith in Jesus Christ made him strong. The words ‘eyes were opened’ means that his weakest eyes, his eyes, were healed and made strong, renewed, and mighty. Weakness was healed and it turned into strength. 2 Corinthians 12:10
4. Faith turns dreams into reality.
(Mt 9:31) Their dream of opening their eyes came true. A dream that seemed unlikely to come true until death has come true. They were so happy that they had no choice but to testify to Jesus. They couldn't contain the joy that their dreams had come true. And I preached Jesus. Faith has the power to turn dreams into reality. Matthew 7:7 Faith is power. Faith is a way to possess the mighty power of God.
