Title: The Power of the Bible
Contents
If you believe in Jesus, suffering will follow. suffer persecution.
Verse 12 says, 'Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution'. The word godliness refers to the attitude of living in tension over whether it is God's will to live this way because the purpose of life is different after meeting the God who made heaven and earth after living in a defenseless state without God.
The statistics may vary from church to church, but if you look at the analysis of the results of the opinion polls for the month of October 2004 last year, in that it is a meeting to prepare the future of the Korean church,
29.5% of church members who correctly pay 1/10 of their income
The content of the Korean Christian Church in which we are currently living is not very bright. Christianity in Europe and the West, which has preached the gospel to us, is declining. The church was sold and turned into a bar or a pagan temple dedicated to foreign gods. Our Korean churches are also decreasing every year.
# The mother church of Missionary Thomas in England has no one to fix it even if it rains. Two people, inside and outside the deacon, are guarding the church. It is time to reflect on what level of our faith is. Today I would like to share a sermon under the title of the power of the Bible.
Why is the Bible the power to restore the right faith?
1. First, for passive reasons, since the world is inherently false, it is impossible to restore faith in a worldly way.
In the main text, verse 13, 'Evil people and deceivers are getting worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.' There is a fundamental reason why people in the world live deceptively.
Revelation 20:2 “He slain the dragon, the old serpent, the devil and Satan.”
Ephesians 2:2 'I followed the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience' John 8:44 'You are of your father the devil... and he is the father of lies.'
Paul said... Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest anyone spoil you with philosophy and vain deceit, according to the traditions of men and according to the elementary learnings of the world, and not according to Christ."
Philippians 3:8 '...I have lost all things for him and have gained Christ, which I count as dung.'
Life 70-80 After living, life is meaningless... Or you feel like you've been tricked by something. I don't know if this is a normal realization. It is a world deceived by Satan.
A mountain is a mountain and a water is water... A man named Seongcheol, who was famous for these words, was very enlightened. Were you a student who studied a lot? It is said that as a result of deep study and meditation, he realized that Satan is a Buddha. And he realized himself to go to hell. 'Why did monk Seongcheol leave with a bitter cold?' If you buy a book called 'Life and Dreams', you will be able to read it along with articles published in the newspapers at the time he was alive. (Written by Beom-sang Ryu, a publisher called Life and Dreams)
Darwin's theory of evolution, communism, today's material culturalism... These issues, ideas, and values seem to benefit people and then ruin them.
2 Timothy 3:7 "Always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
2. Second, the positive reasons we should live by the power of the Bible through the Bible are analyzed for the following three reasons.
1) The Bible creates faith
What is Christianity, what the Bible says, and what is that belief? For example, let's look at the contents of Matthew 7:21- and see what the Bible is trying to say about faith. He was a miracle-minded leader who abandoned God's will and devoted himself to miracles, but he was a miracle worker who could not be saved.
Matthew 7:23 “At that time I will say to them plainly, I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.”
In a miracle...
① Miracles performed by God
1 Corinthians 4:20 “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” When Israel came out of Egypt, God performed a miracle.
#Let them cross the Red Sea
#During 40 years of living in the wilderness, I ate manna and quail that came down from heaven.
#The history of not wearing out clothes and not wearing shoes is a miracle.
#Jesus came and turned water into wine, the miracle of five bottles, and the resurrection of the dead are all miracles.
② There is a history of Satan.
When Moses went and performed miracles to lead Israel out of Egypt, some of the wise men of Egypt also mimicked the miracles.
2 Corinthians 11:14 “It is no wonder that even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”
Matthew 12:22-27 “At that time they brought a man possessed by a demon, who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, and the dumb man spoke and saw. “And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.”
It is said that Jews also performed exorcism in the name of a god at that time. That's why you said this. If Jesus performed miracles in the name of the king of demons, did you magicians also have the power of the king of demons?
③There is a transcendent power of human beings
When a person is strong-willed, psychologically unimaginable things can happen. The Korean church is confused by the complex ability.
These are people who regard Christianity as a culture. They go to church and become rich and get sick. However, good results are not always good until the end, even for the eternal country. In the end, the right faith of Christianity can be defined as living well according to the Bible.
Romans 10:14 'How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard...' Romans 10:17, 'Therefore, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.'
# When Augustine was drunk and horribly broken and wandering, doesn't it say that when he heard the Bible recited by a Sunday student, he fell down on the road and repented?
Romans 13:12-13 "The night is deep and the day is near; therefore let us put off the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, so that we may walk modestly as in the daytime, not in licentiousness and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and sensuality, not in strife and envy. '
John 5:39 “You search the scriptures thinking that you have eternal life.
and this scripture testifies of me.'
# On Wednesday, October 16, 1974, at 8 pm John 8:44-47, I heard the first sermon on the subject of the false world and believed in Jesus and came this far (Benefits from the Bible).
(1) I was healed by reading the Bible (the healing power of the Bible)
(2) Public service exam for Sunday holy water (according to the Bible) - Sunday worship service at Jeil Youngdo Church
(3) Neighborhood Good (Dangsan Grandma’s House Reconstruction) What happened to my older brother, (Elijah?)
(4) I just found a ten-thousand won dalsaebang in Daegu and found it.
(5) I got appendicitis while doing a new church in Bansong, but I gave up surgery because of Sunday, but my appendix was normalized.
2) The Bible gives you wisdom
The value philosophy of how to live life gets wisdom from the Bible. Without the Bible, you cannot gain the wisdom of true life.
James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
Most of the world's denials, political figures, and extraordinary intellectuals are Jewish people. A third of the Nobel Prizes were awarded to Jews. Nearly half of the year is devoted to Israel's sacrifice and service to God. Still, Israel has some of the world's richest people. We Christians give God the same time throughout the year as they do.
It was said that in the last days people will have a thirst for their souls,
Amos 8:11 "Behold, the days are coming, saith the Sovereign LORD, that I will send a famine upon the land, not a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the word of the LORD." Hosea 4:6 "My people will For lack of knowledge they perish...'
Hos 6:3 'Therefore, let us know the Lord, let us do our best to know the Lord...'
Proverbs 1:7 'The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge...'
3) The Bible is made into a whole person
In verses 16 and 17 of the text, 'All Scripture is ... that the man of God may be perfected for every good work'.
Matthew 5:48 “Therefore, be perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect” (Be a standard person before God, like a textbook)
# These days, children and adults alike commit suicide by falling because they don't like their temperament. It's because you don't understand life properly. A Christian's normal character and lifestyle are revealed when he observes the basics of the Christian life. If the basic life of Sunday holy water, tithing, prayer, evangelism, and service is not shown in action, there is nothing else to see.
# A certain deacon consulted through his mother-in-law that the children were upset and the family was not comfortable, so he said, “Are you doing your tithing and holy days right?” At first, it felt bad, but it worked out well in practice, and there are families who became elders.
# The 16th President of the United States, Lincoln, asked his aide to have a secretary, and a person came, but as soon as he looked at him, he told him to leave. So when I asked why, Lincoln said so. I don't think he's even read the Bible.... I'm really not a believer when I ask him.
When we see people like that, we need to put on the glasses of the Bible and learn to read the true person. Lincoln was a president who read the Bible a lot, and he knew how to see people through the eyes of the Bible. Where is our spirit of faith now?
First of all, it is not because they did not know God that the Jews killed the Messiah in the New Testament era. It was the spiritual turmoil and religious corruption of that time. Israel fell into humanism, politicalism, and socialism.
In our day today, God speaks and exhorts. He tells us to be changed anew through the Bible, to gain confidence, and to devote ourselves to it. I pray that the unchanging truth will go beyond the values of the times and guarantee victory for the saints of God once again. I bless you in the name of the Lord
