The power of the gospel (Galatians 1:11-17)
I went to Severance Hospital last week. I made an appointment for an endoscopy.
Historical materials of Yonsei University and Severance Hospital are displayed in the hospital lobby. I saw there
There was a statue in front of the Yonsei University Central Library.
It is a statue of Dr. Yongjae Baek Nak-jun, the spiritual leader of Yonsei University.
One day, a man passed by and said to the father of Dr. Nak-Jun Baek, a shaman.
“You, what are you going to do when you go to hell after being a shaman? Stop doing things that will cause your children to perish, believe in Jesus, and go to heaven.” The white shaman answered with anger and shouted. “No, what are you talking about? Believe in yourself and go to heaven or white.”
But from then on, God's work began.
When the white shaman was just about to sleep, the sound of that person could be heard in his ears.
“Children, stop doing things that will be destroyed, and believe in Jesus and go to heaven.” The white shaman who could not stand the sound that resonated in his ears and heart, eventually believed in Jesus, and a person like Dr. Nak-Jun Paik came out of that family.
The gospel is dynamite. When the gospel falls, the shaman's house also collapses.
Why? Because the gospel came from Jesus Christ (read verse 12).
Paul was not originally an evangelist who testified of Jesus.
Rather, he was the one who took the lead in persecuting those who believed in Jesus.
But after meeting the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus, he became a completely different person.
They became crazy about Jesus even if they lived, Jesus even if they died, and devoted their whole life to preaching the gospel.
This is the power of the gospel that began with Jesus Christ.
