Title [2010] The Power of the Word
Contents
(Luke 1:37-38)
Jesus came to this world incarnate to save us through the cross, and sent the Holy Spirit to be with us. Jesus wanted to expand the kingdom of God. In this world, the kingdom of God must be expanded through the gospel of Christ. The kingdom of God is not in words or means, but is expanded by power. The missionary situation is recorded, and the evangelization rate on this side of the river and on the other side of the stream was different. It is a problem of spiritually overpowering and not being able to. Through today's sermon, I pray that you will become a spiritual winner by knowing and possessing the power.
Genesis 1 introduces a very important fact. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” When He created the heavens and the earth, God created them with His Word (Genesis 1:3). The result of the Word is “It was good”. God's Word has power, and the results are good. However, disobeying or ignoring God's Word will result in bad results. Even when sin entered mankind, they disobeyed God's good word, and death and curses came upon mankind. Even though King Saul became king, God abolished him because he disobeyed him, and he died in battle.
Peter, a disciple of Jesus, lowered his nets “by the word” (Luke 5:5), and as he obeyed, many fish were caught. In Luke 5:7, it is said that they caught two boats, and in John 21:11, it is recorded that 153 large fish were caught. He trusted and obeyed the Word, and miracles followed. Theology is reason and logic, but the Bible is miracles and power. If you believe the word of God as it is, power will follow. Faith is believing and doing it.
In today's text, an angel appears to Mary and tells her that she will be conceived by the Holy Spirit. Mary, who was immersed in happiness before the wedding, confesses, “According to your word, it will be done for me.” That's great faith. How could such a thing happen to a virgin? But God is going to do it through the Holy Spirit. So Mary, who has good faith, accepts it. Obey and say Amen. As a result, many difficulties may have arisen. Still, I want you to confess, “It will be done to me according to your word.” Dear saints, If you try to analyze the Bible with logic, reason, and knowledge, it is difficult to build faith. However, if you look at the Bible from the perspective of God's plan of salvation (the history of redemption) to save sinners by sending Jesus, the Messiah, to forgive sinners, there is no problem in accepting them by faith.
Mary, the main character of the text, was a very faithful girl who was used preciously to decorate a page in the history of redemption. We Christians should respect him and imitate him. God used Mary to wish that God's will be done. She became a woman very close to the center of the events of the history of redemption. God draws in people who have faith, people who are devoted, and people who are God first to unfold the history of redemption. When he unfolded the history of redemption, he spoke with the word just like in the creation of the heavens and the earth. God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, and promised by saying, “Abraham, you love me more than your son Isaac. This is called a covenant. God will surely fulfill all His promises.
Because he promised the patriarchs of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that the land of Canaan would be given to you and your descendants (because it was promised in the word), Jacob died and was buried in the land of Canaan with the faith that he would give it to him, and Joseph was buried in the land of Canaan according to his will. After living in the wilderness for 40 years, they buried it in the land of Canaan. Then, their descendants took possession of the land of Canaan and established the nation as promised with the patriarchs of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. After that, God gave birth to Jesus Christ, the son of Abraham, who was the Messiah, through the Holy Spirit by borrowing the body of Mary who had good faith. When we read the Bible, we must read it with faith. That faith is the faith of the history of redemption. Then you can see how great and powerful the words of the Bible are. Not only that.
God's Word has creativity and artistry, and in it there are blessings that prosper life and soul, and success in everything. The Word is eternal (Matthew 24:35). The Word is omnipotent. He gives life and judges. (John 6:63) The Word is holy. When you are filled with the Word, unclean spirits will depart and you will have a clean heart. When we obey the Word, when we believe, power comes. (Mark 9:23) The more difficult it is to obey, the greater the reward if we obey. (Rev 2:11) Grace is great. Blessings are great. I hope you will read, listen, meditate on, and accept the Word. The Word will work with power in your life.
Believe in the power of the Word! Never obey! A woman who was not very good here became a Christian star. Catholics even worship him as Our Lady. Although Christianity is not, the name of the mother Mary appears in the story of Jesus. I pray that you will live according to the Word like Mary.
