Title: The Power of Truth
The German philosopher Kant's father was Polish. I rode a horse on a mountain pass to go to my hometown, Silesia, Poland. Then the robbers appeared, as expected. Everything they had was taken away, and their words were taken away. asked the robber.
“Is there anything hidden?” "There is not." “Then go.”
He safely escaped from among the robbers and sighed when he discovered that there was a nugget of gold hidden in his pants dance. At that moment, he pondered. Then he turned back to the robbers.
“I repent. A while ago, when I asked if I had anything to hide because I was so frightened and frantic, I answered no, but as I went I found this hidden gold nugget. Take it.”
He gave the nugget of gold he had hidden to the robber. Then the robber fell on his face, giving away the stolen goods and horses.
“Please pray for me. I am afraid of you.”
said.
The foolish innocence brought the robbers to their knees. The Lord said that you have to be like a child to go to heaven. Even in a world where injustice reigns supreme, everyone is bitter in the face of the truth.
“My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart” (Psalm 7:10).
It was during the flowering period of Korea. A new student, Yoon-sun Park, came to Seoul from Pyongyang to obtain a passport from the Governor-General and a visa from the US embassy with the dream of studying in the US with the help of a missionary. At that time, as a young Korean who was a Japanese colonist, going to the United States to study was like picking a star from the sky.
Above all, in order to get a visa from the US embassy, you must have a sure sponsor who guarantees the remittance of your study abroad expenses. Poor student Yun-sun Park went to two places in Seoul to find wealthy people in Seoul with a letter of recommendation from a missionary in Pyongyang, but was turned down gracefully.
Having good faith, he gave up relying on people and decided to pray to God. After that, he went to a church near the US Embassy and prayed all night. This morning, fasting, Yun-sun Park sat in front of the U.S. Counselor. "Why do students want to go to America?" “I want to go there to study theology and to teach seminarians in this country in the future.” “Then who pays for living and tuition while in America?” Park Yoon-sun was in a difficult situation. It was a self-evident fact that he could not get a visa if he told the truth, but he could not lie for the sake of faith and conscience... He was silent for a while before opening his mouth. “You know everything, right?” Fascinated by the young man who answered with an innocent smile, the U.S. Counsel issued a visa on the spot. At the time, it was a topic of discussion as a miraculous event. Through prayer, fasting, and the truth alone, Yunsun Park, a new student, created a miracle in her early days.
"Truthful lips remain forever, but a false tongue soon disappears" (Proverbs 12:19).
“False lips are an abomination to the LORD, but he who walks in truth is pleased with him” (Proverbs 12:22).
The Roman poet Tertullian said:
“The sun shines evenly all the way down to the sewer, but the sun doesn’t pollute itself.”
A good man is like a pearl in the mud, even though he is with the mud, he is not polluted by the environment around him. How many people these days are accustomed to lies and live without knowing the truth? A fake is more glamorous than the real thing. However, if you look inside, you can clearly tell the difference between the fake and the real. The food also sucks. The tongue has become accustomed to the taste of seasonings and spices, and often does not know the true light taste of food. It just reacts to the flavor of the spices.
Life gets messy too. A life of unbelief and falsehood has no hope of eternal life. They do not know the true meaning of life. How miserable is a life without hope after death. Have you ever been accustomed to the fragrance of pleasure? Those who believe in God must not be stained by the turbulence of the world like pearls in the mud.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew in me a right spirit” (Psalm 51:10).
A devout Christian took over the Seolleongtang restaurant and started to run it. He prayed as he opened the Seolleongtang House. "God! I will treat the guests visiting this house as if I was treating them like Jesus.” However, as the chef did before, he prepared enough seolleongtang broth to sell all day with the cream he puts in his coffee. The bones have been made to look like a real country for a long time. He closed the restaurant that day and wrote on the door. “I have a rest today” and prayed. "God! We are going to treat our guests like Jesus, but how can we serve Jesus by tricking Jesus with cream soup and seolleongtang broth? I can't do that.” And he poured out all the seolleongtang broth. After that, he ran the restaurant conscientiously and religiously. This rumor spread around. This restaurant is very thriving now. God blesses honest people.
A sincere person should look the same in public and in private. If you put on a good face in church and go out into the world during the week and turn into an evil face, you are never sincere. A person who is sincere must be followed by actions, not words. A good and sincere person does the right thing even when no one sees it
“Continue your lovingkindness toward those who know you, and show your righteousness to the upright in heart” (Psalm 36:10).
Dosan Ahn Chang-ho said, "If you lied in a dream, let's reflect on it even when we wake up." Livingston, who was called the father of the Black Continent, left the words "Children, be truthful!" Because truth is the way to heaven, and the best material for creating love, laughter, and happiness. The seeds of truth sown in a reality that can only be achieved through sweat and tears of pain and toil produce beautiful fruits of blessing. A person who speaks the truth has no regrets in his heart, and his footsteps have the power to fly The truth always remains, but lies fly away like chaff. Bearing in mind that lies will always be revealed, let's live our lives on the most solid and sure truth.
“A true witness saves lives, but he who speaks lies deceives” (Proverbs 14:25).
* Prayer: Help me to live an honest, sincere, and just life like a disciple of Jesus in a world full of betrayal and conspiracy. Also, grant me the faith to walk the narrow path with joy, remembering the calling you have given me. May our lips and our lives always be honest and sincere, and let us always live a life that resembles Jesus. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen
