Title: The Prepared Person/Acts 10:1~8
Content - People who are ready -
Acts 10:1 8
When God accomplishes His work on this earth, He prepares people in advance and sets up prepared people to accomplish the work He has planned. At this time, I would like to introduce you to a family that God has prepared for a great work. When the gospel of Jesus Christ finally spreads beyond Samaria to the ends of the earth, it is the family that became the first gateway to open the door of mission to the Gentile world. I would like to tell you how God prepared the family of Cornelius, a centurion in the Roman army, for this great work.
First, God makes His people reverent.
To use this man, God was gracious to him so that he had a godly faith. Godliness is an awake faith that acknowledges the presence of God by faith and lives before God every day. The godly people not only respected God, but also lived in fear. Always judged, decided, and obeyed before God. Those who do the work of God must be trained in this godly faith.
Second, to fear God with all the house.
Cornelius lived a life of faith serving God with all his household. In order to be able to influence others in the world, first of all, you must be able to extend that faith to those closest to you. And you have to exert influence on the relatives and friends around you. God prepares His people this way. For those of us who pray to change the whole world, God first works to change the people closest to us around us.
Third, it encourages us to focus on the prayers and alms that God receives.
Prayer is a communion with God before it is a way to receive what we lack and need from God. It is communication with God. Therefore, God first makes them a person of prayer before he entrusts the work to those who will be able to do it. And the other makes him a savior. Cornelius said that he had given a lot of alms to the people, and the alms came from God. Knowing that whatever you do for one of the least of us you do for the Lord, you show love in secret from what you have.
Fourth, it allows us to actively obey God's Word.
"Send people now to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter. He lives in Simon's house where he is buried, and his house is by the sea." As he prayed, he did not delay in receiving an answer. “At the same time, the angel who was speaking had left, and Cornelius summoned two servants of his household and a devout man from among his servants, and told them all about it, and sent them to Joppa.” God wants agile people for a church that is agile. When we are convinced that it is God's will, we must have the agility of faith to obey without delay. God prepares this for your work.
I hope that our religious church will become a new gateway for God's new work, like this Cornelius' family, and I sincerely hope that your family will become like Cornelius's family and one person like Cornelius.
