Title: The Pride of Moab
Contents Bible Text: Isaiah 16:6-12 Title: Retribution of Moab’s Pride
Isaiah 16:6-12.
6 We have heard the pride of Moab; we are very proud.
He is haughty and proud, and I have heard his wrath, but his boasting is in vain. 7 Therefore Moab weeps for Moab, all weeping.
They will mourn over the raisin bread of Gil-hareseth, and they will be very grieved 8 for the fields of Heshbon and the vines of Sibma have dried up.
Previously, its branches went as far as Jazer and into the wilderness.
The sprout grew and crossed the sea
Now the rulers of the nations have cut down its good branches. 9 "Therefore I will weep for the vine of Sibma, like the weeping of Jazer.
I will wet you with my tears, Heshbon, Eleale, your summer fruit,
The sound of joy has ceased for your crops." 10 Joy and joy have departed from the fertile fields, and the vineyards are filled with song and
There will be no joyous sound, and no one will tread the grapes in the frame.
For I have put an end to the joyful noise. 11 Therefore my heart roars like a harp for Moab,
My intestines are for Gil-Hareset. 12 Moab served in its high places weary.
Even if they go to their sanctuary and pray, it is of no avail.
* Moab's message from the prophets and the word of God
Ignoring the warning and being very proud, I was rewarded
to ruin and to be broken.
Therefore, though Moab is weary of service and prayer,
They say that their idols have no power at all. (Verse 12)
The conclusion is based on Romans 2:1-11 as a mirror.
Repent and be proud, do not do evil, but do good
Let's live humbly!
1 “Therefore, you who judge others,
You have no excuse for judging others, for you are condemning yourself.
Do you think you will escape the judgment of God?” 4 Or do you not know that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?
Do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and long-suffering? 5 But according to your stubbornness and unrepentant heart, the day of wrath
You are storing up wrath for thee on the day when God's righteous judgments are revealed. 6 God will reward each one according to what he has done, 7 but to those who with patience in doing good seek glory and honor and immortality.
to eternal life, 8 but to those who are selfish and do not follow the truth but
wrath and fury. 9 There will be tribulation and distress in the spirit of every man who does evil.
To the Jew first and then to the Greek; 10 To those who do good, glory and honor and peace.
First to the Jew, and then to the Greek. 11 For God is no respecter of persons.
