Title: The Promised Road

Contents

Title: The road where blessings were promised

Bible: John 14:1-7

Starting Point of the Word>>

This time, I would like to share a message with the title of “The road where blessings are promised”.

Our lives are beings that walk the path of a certain purpose regardless of what we do.

In walking on that road, some walk the broad road, some walk the narrow road, some walk the rough road, and some walk the smooth road.

They also walk the path of unhappiness and lead the path of happiness.

The word this way includes various meanings such as the Way, light, truth, and word.

If you look at the words "In the beginning was the Word" recorded in John 1:1, in other Bible translations, you can see that in the beginning was the Way, and in the beginning was the Way.

That is why the word road has religious, moral and philosophical meanings.

Example>>

There was once a big painting exhibition in New York, all of which were about roads.

Among them, there was an oil painting in the largest room, a beautiful painting of a middle-aged man and woman walking holding hands.

There is a title written underneath it, and it says "The Road to Happiness".

In this way, all life is living with the hope of walking a happy path.

Do you know if any of you want to go down the path of unhappiness instead of the path of happiness?

If we look at verse 1 of the text,

“Do not let your hearts be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me

I did.

In a word, this verse tells us not to walk the path of worry and unhappiness.

Some people go the wrong way their whole life in search of a happy path.

Through the words of verse 6, Jesus tells us the sure way,

“Jesus said to them, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.”

What do you mean?

These words are saying that in order to walk the path of blessing to the Father, we must follow the promised Jesus Christ.

Jesus is our way.

It is the word of the covenant that we can enter the kingdom of God if we follow Jesus, who is that way.

If we truly want to go on the path of happiness promised by blessings, we must follow the promised Christ, not the saints who look elsewhere.

Go to Word>>

This time, we will consider some of the ways revealed through the Bible.

First, it is the road to Damascus, that is, the road of repentance.

The road to Damascus is like the steps of Paul going to persecute those who believe in Jesus.

However, on this Damascus road, a wonderful providence of God appeared.

On the road to Damascus, Saul met the resurrected Jesus and was converted.

His conversion completely changed the direction of his life and worldview.

It doesn't matter what our lives were like before we believed in Jesus.

If you become a believer in Jesus like Paul, you must experience the grace of completely changing your attitude in life like Paul.

Until now, we were slaves to sin, but having been bought with the price of the blood of Jesus Christ, we are no longer slaves to sin but have the grace to become servants of the Lord.

The event of the Israelites' exodus from Egypt is the event in which God called Israel, the slave of Egypt, to be God's people.

The Greek word for Exodus is 'EXODUS', which means the way of departure.

It took 40 years to leave Egypt, the filthy city of sin, and go to a land flowing with milk and honey. .

If you are going on the wrong path like this, you must quickly find the way to the truth.

The trajectory needs to be corrected.

Example>>

asked the question.

In response to this question, Dr. Simpson

“The great discovery of my life was that I discovered that I was a sinner and that Jesus was my Savior.”

answered.

In this way, we must walk the path of blessing and life that the Lord has promised us.

That is, the way of repentance is the way to Damascus.

Second, there is the road that goes down to Jericho, that is, the road of love and devotion.

The road to Jericho is the path that the Good Samaritan walked while showing good deeds and love to the dying man who passed by without even the Levites or priests.

Who is Jesus' true neighbor? He said that you should do the same.

As the saying goes, you reap what you sow, so those who sow love will reap love, and those who show kindness will reap kindness.

But if you sow nothing, you will not reap.

Therefore, as saints, we must sow kindness, service, and love.

Parents want to pass on a legacy to their children.

But it is of no use if you do not teach the truth and the way of blessing.

Therefore, parents should teach their children how to serve their neighbors, how to serve the church, and the truth of the truth so that their children can receive great blessings from God.

The path my child has walked is like my mirror.

As my father walks on the snow, what path am I going when I see a child struggling to follow in his footsteps? should be considered carefully.

We have a responsibility to pass on to our descendants the path of a great legacy so that they can follow the path of truth, the path of Jesus.

A missionary in China shared the truth of Jesus with villagers in remote areas.

But there was already a little Jesus in that village.

There was one person who came as a medical missionary 100 years ago, and he lived and went like Jesus.

He was like Jesus, giving love, devoting himself, and living a life of witnessing the gospel.

That's why the natives of the area called the medical missionary little Jesus.

We follow the Lord, just as the good Samaritan who went down to Jericho gave up everything and served and devoted himself to the dying, so we too must become saints walking the road of Jericho.

In the name of the Lord, I ask you in the name of the Lord to become precious believers living in this age as the little Jesus, just like the missionaries who had a beautiful influence in remote villages with the little Jesus.

Third, the way up to Jerusalem, the way to fight bravely in spirit.

The road to Jerusalem is a road with all kinds of scheming and a plot to kill you on the cross.

Even though Jesus knew all these things, he boldly walked the righteous path, the path of truth, and the path of the cross.

Walking the road of Jerusalem seems to be a painful and difficult road right now, but it means that God leads a new path of blessing.

When Abraham left the path of sin and walked the path of adventure and faith, he could become the father of faith and the father of blessing.

In a village there was a woman with great faith.

Even as she walked through all kinds of trials and tribulations, she was praised by those who were ignorant.

One day a woman came to me and asked me how I had come to have great faith.

At that time, the woman answered, “It is only because I have little faith and believe in God who has great faith, and God has guided me with great faith.

said.

We must become saints who see God who is greater than us, not ourselves or the world.

This is walking on the right path of faith.

The road to Jerusalem is a road of adventure and a road that carries the cross.

However, if you walk on that path, please believe that God will change you into a path of blessing.

Therefore, I ask in the name of the Lord that you will become believers who boldly go up to Jerusalem.

Fourth, there is the way down to Emmaus, the way of experience.

After Jesus was resurrected, the two disciples were discouraged because they could not meet the resurrected Jesus, and while on their way to Emmaus, a guest appeared and went with them.

When evening came, and when we broke bread together in the inn, our eyes were opened and we realized that it was the resurrected Jesus.

At that time, the two disciples rejoiced and testified of the resurrected Jesus.

The two disciples had the experience of meeting the resurrected Lord, the experience of opening their eyes, the experience of the Word, and the experience of the Holy Spirit.

Believing in Jesus is an experiential faith.

In other words, rather than conceptual, logical, or philosophical, we can see that experiencing Jesus is the experiential path of faith of the two disciples going down to Emmaus.

You may be familiar with Se-ri Pak, who was once called the world's golf queen and the woman who created myths.

The reason that she could be called the queen of golf and the woman who created myths was that she became famous all over the world through her training and hard work according to the textbook.

When comparing this with faith,

First, when you believe in Jesus, you must believe in the truth.

The second is that he put in a lot of hard work and training. That's just being obedient.

Third, no matter how difficult it was, he did not lose his composure.

At this time, I ask in the name of the Lord that we, too, will become all believers who walk the path of experience of believing in Jesus.

At the end of the speech>>

If we look at verse 6 of the text,

“Jesus said to them, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.”

I did.

When we have faith and follow Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life, we will be able to overcome any obstacles in our way.

Because that is the path that God has promised us as a blessing.

Today, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will overcome the road given to us well by faith and go out and experience the blessed covenant of God in the life of the saints.
