Title: The Prosperous Person
Contents
A prosperous person (Genesis 39:1-6)
Joseph was a man who feared God first and was faithful in all things with reverence and sincerity. However, the wicked brothers were jealous of Joseph and sold him to a Midianite merchant, and Joseph, who was sold to Egypt by them, was again framed by Potiphar's wife and was imprisoned. However, in the midst of such suffering, not only did Joseph never blame God, but he still feared God and was sanctified and pure. So God allowed him to prosper in all things, and even made him the prime minister. To whom will God truly bless?
First, a person with a dream and a vision. (37:7,9)
It is written in the Bible that ‘a people without a vision will perish’ (Proverbs 29:18). This means that without a vision and plan, they will perish. Joseph had a dream in which his brothers' altar bowed down to his altar (Genesis 37:7), and he had a dream in which the sun, moon, and eleven stars were bowing down (Genesis 37:9). If you work hard and work hard, you can succeed and live a life that others will envy. A dream is something you look forward to and hope for from the inside out. God makes dreams come true for those who have them. The people of the Bible who left the light of history were all people with dreams and visions. You have to fill your heart with ideals and build a new dream. Joseph was able to succeed because he lived a positive and active life, overcame despite tribulation, and had a dream and a vision.
Second, he is a person of patience.
There are many people in the Bible who persevered and endured. A typical example is Job. He lost children, his wealth and health, his wife ran away from home, and his friends betrayed him. I was in a situation where I could give up my life with resentment, but I persevered until the end and waited for God's will. Rather, he received a double blessing from God. Joseph was sold into slavery, and although he was diligent and faithful in Potiphar's house, he was unfairly thrown into prison. But he did not lose heart and persevered, so God made him prosper. Success is the fruit of perseverance. All things have a time. Like Joseph, if we endure hardship and adversity and wait, the time of victory will come.
Third, he is a helper who gives comfort and hope (verse 21).
Even in prison, Joseph gave love, joy, and help to the prisoners. He was generous to the frustrated and a comforter. The Apostle Paul also comforted those outside when he was in Philippi prison. Many people are often unable to overcome their circumstances and circumstances. God is looking for people who give comfort and hope to others. Like Joseph, God blesses you with prosperity when you become a person who is generous and tolerant without being disappointed or frustrated, and a helper who gives you comfort and hope.
Fourth, a person who discerns one's position.
Joseph did not deviate from his position as a slave. He did not succumb to the temptation of Potiphar's wife and did not lose his humility even in prison. He was never proud of a person like him. You have to live a life where you can discern your own position and look at yourself first before pointing out the faults of others. The Apostle Paul confessed that he was 'the least of the apostles' (1 Corinthians 15:9) and 'the least of the saints', and further confessed that he was 'the chief among sinners' (1 Tim. 1:15), discerning his position. I lived a humble life. As the years go by, you should become a person who clearly knows your position and identity. We must kill ourselves daily so that our souls and bodies can live. Therefore, I believe that you should live a life that discerns one's position.
