(Matthew 20:28) “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life many
to give it as a ransom for a man.”
1. Making the most of today's meaning is the most meaningful way to spend today.
1) It is meaningful to keep the meaning of the contents alive, whether it is an anniversary or a holiday.
-People remember anniversaries to achieve meaning in the past or present.
* National anniversaries, birthdays or anniversaries of individuals, holidays of groups or companies, and days set by certain people.
* Every day has a meaning and people try to remember it for that meaning.
* An anniversary that loses its meaning is like steamed bread without anko.
* Days with fading meaning are only nominal, namely days.
* They come to play on their birthday and have the main character prepare food, and the congratulatory guests just play and work.
- Do we spend Christmas meaningfully, the day the Holy Lord came for us?
* Today, Christmas is not a Christmas for Christians, but a Christmas for unbelievers. : main audience
* And Christians are also riding on their culture and becoming more like them.
* They look forward to Christmas and enjoy their plans while waiting for the snow to come.
* Why is Christmas so joyful, joyful, exciting, and anticipatory?
* For Jesus, Christmas will be painful, lonely, dejected, and sad. : main audience
2. There is a purpose for the Christmas that people look forward to, that is, Jesus came.
1) First, God has a purpose for sending Jesus Christ to this earth.
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased” (Luke 2:14).
- Jesus came to this earth to bring glory to God and peace on earth.
* Through Jesus, this earth is made up of the kingdom of God and righteousness to God.
* Peace to those who follow the holiness of God to all on earth.
2) Jesus clearly revealed the purpose of his coming to this earth.
(Matthew 20:28) “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life many
to give it as a ransom for a man.”
- The Lord did not come as splendidly as people think.
* Born on this earth in the most humble way, he was worshiped and praised by the little ones.
* Jesus was born in a stable for horses, not human dwellings, and was laid in a manger.
* And the shepherds in the cold winter were worshiped by the shepherds.
* Although Christmas is full of blessings and grace for us, it is by no means a glamorous and noisy day.
* It is a day of simplicity, quiet and humility, and a day of joy due to the Lord's coming as the Lord.
* It is a day to worship, rejoice, and rejoice only with glory and praise to God.
- The Lord came to serve and served and gave Himself as a ransom.
* The Lord should be served, but he came to serve.
* The Lord, the Creator, forsook Himself and humbled Himself to the point of becoming a creature.
* Those who serve cannot serve unless they humble themselves thoroughly.
* People try to boast and exalt themselves, and they want to be served.
* Self-esteem is offended, dissatisfied, and complaining about not being able to do this.
* Judges and criticizes others by self-identifying themselves as having a comparative advantage over others.
* The Lord was placed in a low place by giving up his authority, power, and omniscience.
* The Lord could not bear the cross if He had not humbled Himself thoroughly.
“This grace has been given to me, less than the least of all the saints, so that the unsearchable riches of Christ may be preached to the Gentiles” (Ephesians 3:8).
* If he had not humbled himself, he would not have become an apostle to the Gentiles as he faced the danger of death.
* Those who long for the Lord and honor His will are those who can humble themselves.
* A proud person does not worship, obey, or dedicate himself to God. only imitating
* The Bible teaches us.
“Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as robbery, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human form, and being found in human form, humbled and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of a cross” (Philippians 2:5-8).
- To spend Christmas meaningfully is to fulfill the purpose of Jesus' coming in us.
* That is, he has an attitude of serving, and he humbles himself and serves the Lord, the saints, and those around him.
* Today, we hold a Christmas thanksgiving service to make Christmas meaningful.
* If you want to remember and spend a truly meaningful day, practice serving.
* The reason the Lord washed the feet of the last disciples is that all disciples are to fulfill the way of serving.
* The church develops, grows, and prospers through the way of service of the saints.
* Christmas Let's rejoice and rejoice in Christmas with a sincere heart.
