Title: The rest of my life
Contents
The content of the text is 1 Samuel 2:12-17, 22-30
“If you ask me who is a wonderful man with true faith in this world, I will say without hesitation that he is my father. During his lifetime, my father has built over 150 churches around the world, serving small rural churches for over 50 years. In 1999, my father died of cancer. On the night nearing his deathbed, my father kept trying to get up from his seat. The wife next to him said, “Father! Why are you trying to get up?” Then the father said, “We need to save at least one more person, at least one more person… .” Tears flowed from my eyes. At that moment, my father put his dry hands on my head and said, “Save one more person! One more person... “I made those words the purpose of the rest of my life… .”
When you leave this world, what do you want your children to see as their father and mother? What do you look like now? We hope that the following will be reflected in our children.
First, I hope that your devotion and love to God will come first.
Chapter 2 of the main text tells the story of God abandoning the priest Eli's house and replacing it with Samuel. Why did God abandon Eli's house? Let's look at the priest Eli first. Verse 28 says, “Did I not choose him from all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, and to wear the ephod before me? Have I not given all the offerings of the children of Israel to the house of your fathers?” You are saying that this word means that you honor and feed yourself with good things. Verse 29 says, “Why do you tread on my sacrifices and offerings, which I have commanded in my dwelling place, and consider your sons more important than me, so that you may feed yourselves with the best offerings of my people Israel?” This verse is, “Why do you value your children more than me, so that you choose only the best of all the sacrifices that my people Israel have sacrificed to me, so that you may gain weight on your own?” I hope that you will become believers who put your devotion and love to God first.
Second, I hope you value worship.
Verse 22 says, “When Eli was very old, he heard all that his sons had done to all Israel, and that he had slept with the woman who served at the door of the tent of meeting.” The child is the face of the father, and the father is the face of the child, how can they live? A father loves his children more than God, and his children love the world more than God. So we see that God destroys Eli's house and sets up the prophet Samuel to become the leader of Israel.
Third, I want you to possess the faith of God absolutism.
I want you to live your life centered on God first. Then your children will also live centered on God. Because your face is the face of your child. I pray for the rest of your life to be blessed and blessed by not looking at your present form in the light of the water, but in the light of people, and further in the light of God's Word.
