Title: The Resurrection and Us
Contents
1. Words that begin
“As if enchanted (AFP), impenetrable (New York Times), flawless (The Times, UK), more than imaginable (CNN) and the greatest performance in history (AP)… On the 25th, the world press overflowed with tributes and hymns to the figure skating queen.” This is an article in the Chosun Ilbo. An American NBC commentator said, “Oh my God! This stage is dazzlingly beautiful. What a beautiful speed! Also, long live Her Majesty!” The Canadian daily Vancouver Sun (SUN) called “Kim Yuna a living, breathing art from Korea,” and the Associated Press called it “one of the greatest performances in figure skating history.” The Mainichi Shimbun newspaper said, “A genius born in Korea, possessing everything from jumping skills to expressive power and mental power” under the titles of 'Awesome Love' and 'Strong Will, Unshakable Skill'. ' and 'Ice Fairy' said, "We achieved a perfect victory with an all-time high record."
We need to keep in mind the fact that Yuna Kim repeated the same practice and training as the pain of death while looking at the gold medal. The saying that there is no resurrection without the cross is also the truth of life.
2. Apostle Paul, the gold medalist of the gospel
He was not afraid of death, which even the heroes of the world fear, and he had a desire to die and be with the risen Lord forever. The apostle Paul was a hero of faith that transcended life and death in the Lord. All of Paul's actions were the result of spiritual union with the resurrected Lord, who was crucified and became a sin offering, and gained the power and wisdom of the Lord.
Before meeting the resurrected Lord by the grace of God rather than a rational and volitional decision, Paul was a persecutor who ran wildly to destroy the Church, the head of which is the Lord, with his knowledge of the law, passion, and world intelligence. He himself said, “I am the least of the apostles, and I am not worthy to be called an apostle because I persecuted the church of God. They labored more than the apostles, but not I, but the grace of God who was with me. Therefore, as I and they preached, so also you believed.”
With his genius intelligence and genius religiosity, he was well versed in Greek and Hebrew ideology, which are the two major Western spheres, and Paul, who persecuted the church as a Jewish Pharisee or rabbi, was not the real Paul. It is by the grace of God that Paul became the true Paul. Instead of perishing on the way to Damascus to arrest the church members, they met the resurrected Lord by the grace of God. As an apostle united with the Lord by God's grace and being supplied with power and wisdom, he endured tribulation and persecution and worked harder than all the apostles. That is why we have no choice but to spread the gospel so that we believe in the cross and resurrection of the Lord, the gospel of salvation and the gospel co-workers.
After experiencing the grace of healing, the church member sang and said that God had healed him. Not only when I came to church, I sang to people that their hemorrhoids were cured by the grace of the Lord.
In an interview with foreign correspondents, Kim Yu-na said, "I just do what I want to do, what I need." "I never considered a specific person as my rival." May all of us do what we want and need, according to God's will, without regard to anyone as a rival or any worldly conditions in mind. I hope you will fulfill the basics of your life of faith: holy water, prayer, evangelism, and obedience to the Word. Isn't the risen Lord with you? In Philippians 4:13, the apostle Paul said, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
3. Those who met the risen Lord
The second gift, the late Dean Yong-ok Kim, said, “For Paul, the fact of the resurrection was the basis for the establishment of Christianity. Resurrection occupies a central position in Christianity. Therefore, to doubt or deny it is to doubt or deny the basis of Christianity. Paul had already told the Corinthians of such an important resurrection.”
The Apostle Paul emphasized again because of the importance of the resurrection of the crucified Lord, and because he heard that there were members of the church who denied it. He made the Corinthians know about the cross and resurrection of Christ, the gospel that he preached to and accepted by them and is the foundation of their religious life. He also said that the Corinthians would be saved if they kept the gospel and did not believe without discernment. The reason is that the gospel that Paul received was the most important, so he preached it to the Corinthians, because, according to the prophecy of the Bible, Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the prophecy of the Bible.
As C. K. Barrett said, “If he had been buried, he must have been really dead. Furthermore, if he had been buried, the resurrection must have been the resurrection of the body.” And GD Fee emphasized that “by emphasizing the fact that the body of the dead was placed in a tomb, the subsequent resurrection is not simply a spiritual phenomenon, but an objective reality. will be recognized as
The resurrection of Jesus Christ was the manifestation of God's greatest power. As W. Barclay wrote, “For Paul, the resurrection was the product of the power of God and the work of the hand of God. The Resurrection was, in fact, the complete, definitive, and irrefutable manifestation of the never-ending, never-defeating power of God.” There is no better proof of the resurrection than that the Creator of all things, the Providence of the universe, and Almighty God raised Jesus Christ.
The apostle Paul listed the witnesses who saw the risen Lord to prove the fact of the resurrection. “He appeared to Cephas, and later to the twelve, and after that to more than five hundred brothers at one time, of whom most of them are still alive, and some have fallen asleep, and after that he appeared to James, and then to all the apostles, and lastly to all the apostles, and last of all, because they were not full. He has also been shown to me as a sleeper.
For the Apostle Paul, the resurrection of Christ was the work of the Father, the resurrection of Himself by the authority of Christ Himself, and the work of the Holy Spirit. In that sense, the resurrection of Christ is a transhistorical event in history. The greatest need for all people, especially church members, is to meet the resurrected Christ.
4. Conclusion
All the apostles preached that the Lord Jesus died on the cross to save mankind, was buried and rose from the dead. Most of the Corinthians believed so. They did not believe in the Lord Jesus swallowed up in death, or the resurrection of the Lord as an idea of a religious event or a triumph of justice. I actually believed in the risen Lord. In fact, a dead person or an idea is not worthy of being saved by faith. I hope that all of us will face trials and disciplines with the hope of resurrection and receive the gold medal in the life of faith.
