Title: The Revival of Isaac

Contents

Bible: Genesis 26:12-25

──────────────────────

In Genesis chapters 1 and 2, we see the story of God creating man. From chapter 3, we see the sins of the created humans. Since then, human history has been a history of sin. However, God did not allow the human beings created by God to die just because they committed a crime. We can see the God who calls again, forgives and restores.

And he chooses Abraham and proceeds with the work of salvation. So we who read the Bible know about Abraham well. We also know the story of Jacob, Abraham's grandson. However, it is true that not much is recorded in the Bible about Isaac, the son of Abraham and the father of Jacob, and therefore we do not know much about it.

But Isaac was also a man blessed by God. “You too will make a great nation, and I will give you all the land you see, and I will make you a blessing.” God gave Isaac the promise he had made to his father, Abraham.

So let's think about how Isaac was revived. In verse 15 we read, it says that Isaac's servants found the fountain's source. Jeremiah 2:13 says, “God is the fountain of fountains. It is the source of water. It is the source of blessings.” Water from God is a blessing. If we look at Abraham, he found the same place where he looked for God, and Isaac found the same place.

If it's just a well, you can sell it here, or you can sell it there. However, we can see that Isaac dug a well on the spot of his father's well, just as his father had served God. That is, Isaac sought God in the same way his father Abraham sought God.

In the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15, the fault of the prodigal son is that he left his father's house, the house of God, rather than spending a lot of money, playing with prostitutes, and having fun. By the time I left, I was already corrupted, and I was wrong. However, as Isaac returned to the well dug by his father Abraham, the work of revival is already taking place.

Although we talk a lot about the early church, returning to the early church is the beginning of revival. The history of revival does not happen in a different or new way, but the beginning of revival is to return to its original place.

When Abraham was commanded by God to take Isaac to Mount Moriah, Isaac asks his father Abraham. "father. I have wood to break, but where is the lamb for sacrifice?” How did Abraham feel about that? However, as God commanded, Abraham intends to offer Isaac as a sacrifice at the top of the mountain. The important thing here is that Isaac obeyed his father.

Of the 41 kings of Israel, the greatest kings are David and Josiah. David's splendor needs no further explanation. However, Josiah had Manasseh as his grandfather and Amon as his father. But the Bible says, "Josiah lived after King David among his fathers." Just as Isaac followed his father Abraham to seek God, Josiah served God like the great King David. So the Bible says: “There was no one who served God as honestly as Josiah did before and after Josiah.”

Another important thing today is that when Isaac started digging the well that Abraham had dug, the Philistines blocked the entrance to the well with stones. Isaac began to take out the stones and debris one by one. Today we came before God, but this time we came to the place of blessing. Now we need to receive blessings, but we have to remove the stones that are blocking the gap between God and us. You have to get rid of the junk.

If there is a blockage between God and us, if this is a sin, then the work of revival will take place when the sin is removed. Another thing is, if there is something you love more than God, take that love with you.

If there is something you love more than God, take that love with you. Because material things cannot save us. No place can save us from sin and death. The person we love so much cannot save us. In order to love and save us, God takes away all the idols in us and things we love more than God.

Dear saints, it is an idol to love more than God. The idol blocks blessings from God. Anyway, if there is something you love more than God, please throw it away as soon as possible. God blesses our lives and blesses our lives, not the world blesses us.

When God blesses us, he tells us to share it with all people. Without arguing over the well that Isaac had dug, he left them with them and went down to Beersheba. God gave him seven springs of water. Then all the people there said, “You are truly blessed by God. You are really a denial.” You will see stories like this in the Bible.

Dear saints, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will be able to hear the voices of “God be with you and bless you” in the name of the Lord.
