Title: The Revival of the Early Church

revival of the early church
(Acts 2:42-47)
Looking at the words of Acts, we all feel and marvel at what
It's about how people can change so much even if they change.
My thoughts changed... my values changed... As a result... my words changed... my actions... everything changed. This is the true power of the gospel and the power of Christianity.
They were just a mob until recently, who had crucified Jesus to death.
They were the original creators, but now they have completely changed... they have become new beings, and this is the message that today's Word gives us and the voice of the Holy Spirit.
The early church met every day in the temple. There was full of the Holy Spirit and joy, and their fellowship was abundant. He was praised by all the people.
As a result, 'the number of people being saved daily increased.' This is revival.
Spirit-filled church
“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all gathered together in one place, and suddenly there was a sound of a rushing and strong wind from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting” (verses 1 and 2).
The day the Holy Spirit came down is the 10th day on the day that Jesus ascended into heaven, and the 50th day on the day he was resurrected.
Suddenly, 'the sound of a rushing and strong wind from heaven' filled the house where they were gathered, to the praying crowd.
The word 'spirit' (pneu'ma) itself has the meaning of 'wind' and has the meaning of breath, breath, or energy.
Above all, the wind is 'freely', which gives a great meaning.
This tells us that since the Holy Spirit is a free spirit, a person in whose presence the Holy Spirit becomes a free spirit person.
At the same time, wind has the same power as storms and typhoons.
It symbolizes the power of the Holy Spirit.
At the same time, it is a spirit with infinite power,
It is the Spirit that sets people free and empowers them by being present on those who yearn for him.
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of freedom and power.
As a sign of God's presence with fire (Exodus 3:2; 19:16-20), it also shows the function of consuming and judgment (Isa 48:10; Deut 4:24; Matt 3:12), but also the function of sanctifying. It is also the function (Ezekiel 1:4; Mal 3:2) and the source of all activity.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit to inspire devotion and loyalty by instilling a passion for love for God and man and a strong driving force for good works.
Also, the Holy Spirit works like warm heat in the human soul so that we can bear the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and become like Christ Jesus.
Thus, the Holy Spirit is a consuming spirit, a purifying spirit, a spirit of passion, a spirit of power, and a spirit of sanctification.
The early church was revived by the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Let us also fulfill the mission given to us to become a revival church like in 1907, filled with the Holy Spirit, and become all who glorify us.
A church that strives to gather and fellowship
The early church in Jerusalem tried to gather in the temple with one heart every day like this saying, and this was a natural phenomenon after Jesus was resurrected and ascended into heaven.
The Gospel of Luke expresses it this way (Luke 24:50-53)
Jesus took them out to Bethany, and lifted up his hands and blessed them, and when he had blessed them, he left them and took them up to heaven. They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were always in the temple praising God.
And the book of Acts puts it this way:
Whether they were in the temple or at home every day, they did not cease to teach and preach that Jesus is the Christ.
The members of the early church in Jerusalem were always praying and praising God in the temple and devoted themselves to preaching that Jesus is the Christ.
We want to be such a church.
This week... or even tomorrow, I hope that you will be zealous again and focus on gathering from the morning worship service.
In particular, all the alumni come out at dawn to go home and church...
I sincerely hope that by earnestly praying for the country and people, the history of becoming one family, one church, and one nation will come true.
To do this, we must first gather.
We must gather together, but we must gather together in the right faith.
It is said to be a true story that occurred during the reign of Louis XIV.
It is said that on Sundays, the king would always go to church with the king's family and the royal family.
King Lee always attended the church served by an archbishop named Penelon, but he couldn't control himself because there were too many church members.
That chapel will explode and gather.
In the mind of this archbishop, he did not know whether these were really believers in Jesus or whether he was coming to see the king.
So I was curious, so I tested it one day.
The king and the royal family came to the church in horse-drawn carriages, but there were no members.
There is only the Archbishop.
How did you come to this by surprise? I asked...............
The Archbishop said, 'It seems that these people are not coming to worship, but to the king, so I did an experiment.
Last week, I quietly advertised, 'The king won't come next week.'
This is how it happened.'
Worship is to worship God, to purpose God, and to please God.
We must worship God and have beautiful fellowship.
the praised church
And he was praised by all the people, and the Lord added day by day those who were being saved.
It is a good church that is praised by all the people. In Acts 6, we see a scene where the early church in Jerusalem is growing day by day and selecting workers to serve the church.
The Bible describes it this way (Acts 6:3-4) Brethren, choose from among you seven men of praise, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom. We will entrust this work to us, and we will do nothing to pray or preach the word...
It is that the early church in Jerusalem set the criteria for selecting lay leaders to work for the church as those who are full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom... and those who receive praise.
So, the church became a church filled with the Holy Spirit... and people who were praised were chosen. In the end, it became a church that was praised and praised by all the people... the Lord was saved.
I believe that the work of adding more people every day has come.
Praise is given to those who work hard.
This is the story of a kind old man's enemy.
On a twilight moonlit night, there was a sign in the yard, and the old man looked out through the large blue glass. A man tried to stand up with a pile of crests piled up in the corner of the yard, but he couldn't get up because of his strength.
The old man sneaked out the back door and supported him from behind.
The man on the night looking back in a strange way was startled and committed a sin to death, so I beg you to forgive me.
The old man who confirmed that he was the poor guy in the village
“Even so, I was going to send you some rice islands, but I’m sorry I couldn’t send them. Take one more island. This is something that only you and I know.”
The man who received the grace eventually told the town about it, and the villagers praised the old man highly.
The early church shows the prototype of a revival church.
On the Day of Pentecost, the saints who were filled with the Holy Spirit gathered
revived.
We too are filled with the Holy Spirit, strive to gather, fellowship and be praised.
Let's achieve revival again in 1907 and become a church that accomplishes God's holy will on this earth. Amen
