Reward of Perfect Loyalty
(2009.06.07.week) (Wednesday 14:6~14)
The rulers of the world often reward their guards and punish their loyalists because of their poor judgment.
How unfair would it be to those who were not recognized even after being loyal?
It's not just the sovereigns like kings.
*Even those who are sincere are not recognized by the boss, and there are cases where people who are quick-witted are recognized.
*Even in school, a student with a moderate squint may get better grades than a student who studies hard.
*Politicians also often succeed in re-election and third term because politicians who have worked hard with conviction are reviled, and those who moderately please local residents gain popularity.
Living while experiencing a lot of injustice in the world - because of the accumulation of distrust - there are people who are moderately aware even before God and try to deceive God in moderation.
But you must know - God is not deceived by men. God's judgment is correct.
* Just because you sinned and were not punished - you did not deceive God - only that God endured it.
*There is no reason to feel unhappy that a faithful believer has not been blessed - it is just that the award is a little delayed.
Don't worry about the immediate results - I hope you will become believers who are walking the narrow path with firm faith.
1. Two spies who are completely loyal.
In the days of Moses, there was not a single person left who complained about God because of their uncertain faith, and they all perished in the wilderness.
On the other hand, those who showed the glory of God by persuading the people with their steadfast faith were greatly blessed, though there were only a few. - They are Joshua and Caleb.
(Numbers 14:6-8) - “Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, among those who spyed out on the land, tore their clothes. And he spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, The land we went through and spyed out is a very good land If the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us into that land, and he will give it to us, a land flowing with milk and honey.”
After 45 years, Caleb remembers what happened 45 years ago.
(Joshua 14:8) - "My brothers who went up with me melted the people's quarrels, but I was faithful to the LORD my God" - 10 spies disappointed the people, and the people who trusted them complained to God - 10 The spies and all the people who followed them were the same sinners before God.
But - Joshua and Caleb were both loyal believers - Caleb admits to himself that he was a loyal believer.
* Loyalty is when you enter as a spy in an enemy camp where life cannot be guaranteed.
* Loyalty is faithfully spying and reporting faithfully.
* Loyalty is to persuade the people boldly in front of people who are likely to cause a riot.
Beloved saints - like Caleb - I hope that you all can be proud of yourself, saying, “I am a faithful believer” even when you think of yourself.
2. The person who received the award promptly.
Please believe that God will punish disloyal sinners with chastisement, but will bless faithful believers.
Of the 12 spies, 10 became forgotten figures because of their distrust and dissatisfaction with their unfaithful reports.
At that time, Joshua and Caleb were recognized as faithful and loyal believers with firm faith.
Joshua and Caleb 2 were the ones who deserved the reward.
Of those two, Joshua received a great prize right away.
* As a servant of Moses, he was a mentor to Moses' closest aide, and he was faithfully trained as a leader.
*When Moses was old and had to raise a successor - Joshua was chosen as Moses' successor.
