Title: The Road to Drive Out Sin

Text: Hebrews 3:13

“Only admonish one another daily, while it is called Today, that any of you shall not be hardened by the temptations of sin.”

How many people in this world live without sin? If you think about it, the words of the Bible that "there is not one" are the most accurate. Nevertheless, you can see that people speak so proudly and live as if they did not commit any sins themselves. But the fact is not that he has not sinned, but it would be more correct that his sin has not yet been revealed.

Generally speaking, people who scold, punish, and yell at others are those who are convinced that they are innocent. When people think of sin, they think there are big sins and small sins. A long time ago, there was a case where I went to prison and preached a man named Kim, who had killed dozens of people. But the man said, "Should I have killed one or two people? Will God ever forgive me?" In his opinion, there is a clear difference between the man who kills one and the man who kills ten. But in terms of murder, it's the same. If you kill one person, it is murder; if you kill ten people, it is murder.

Others think that being caught is a sin, and not being caught is not a sin. No matter what I think in my heart, I don't think it's a sin if it doesn't appear outwardly. So people are passionate about how to hide their sins. People are not interested in not sinning, they are more interested in not being caught.

They think it's okay to not kill. Whether you hate it or kill it in your heart, it doesn't matter. They also think that they must not commit adultery. It doesn't matter what sexual thoughts or imaginations you have in your mind. But in fact it is not. They are all the same in the essence of sin.

Human sin grows exponentially like a poisonous mushroom. The way to prevent sin is not to intimidate and punish. Then your sins will not go away, but rather will be hidden. On the surface, it may seem that sin is gone and gone, but in fact, it will sink to the bottom of the water and raise its head again one day.

Dust does not go away even if you shake it off with a gun. It will only subside again over time. To remove the dust, you must first spray it with water, let it settle, then sweep it with a broom and throw it in the trash. Sin is sin. Just because it is a small sin is not a sin, and it cannot be a sin because it is not detected. What is the way to drive out sin from our society?

First, it starts with acknowledging that you are guilty.

Even if it is a small sin, if you admit that it is a sin, even if it goes undetected, the sin will begin to disappear. The higher you are, the more stingy you are in admitting your own faults and mistakes. They tend to blame others for all their mistakes. The more we do this, the more twisted and deeper the sin becomes. To admit a sin also means to at least take responsibility for it. It means moral responsibility, not criminal responsibility. It is not shameful to admit a sin, but a greater shame to hide it.

Second, we need to make people look for justice in their hearts and long for the truth.

If you look at justice, you will stay away from sin, and if you long for the truth, you will naturally avoid sinning. Rebuke and intimidation do not make the sin go away. If you create a just society, make just laws, and have just politics, people will naturally be kind, love those laws, and obey them. Anyone who feels fair doesn't complain. Even if it's difficult and difficult, we endure, understand and accept But if you feel it's unfair, like pouring oil on a fire, anger and hatred will rekindle in people's hearts, and sin will spread in an instant.

Third, you must be sincere in your work. Many temptations of sin first tempt those who have a lot of time.

Don't be idle enough for Satan to have an opportunity. David fell into temptation as he wandered leisurely on the wall. Satan never delays snatching a lazy person. The evils of injustice, corruption, and distrust that are taking place in our society today are because we neglected our own work and the virtue of sincerity was exhausted in our hearts.

Fourth, it is the way to love and forgive people.

I do not sin against anyone I love. Who steals from their loved ones or their children, and who makes money or commits adultery with their loved ones? If you love you will forgive, if you love you will be punished instead, if you love you will be sacrificed. The Bible says, “Above all, love one another zealously, for love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8). Love makes you pure.

* Prayer: Almighty Lord, I am weak against sin and often fall. But since you have made me new, let me love you completely with that love, live for you and your neighbor, and imitate your character. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen
