Matthew 16 is a famous chapter for Peter's confession of faith. Because of Peter's confession, in front of many disciples, Jesus praised and satisfied that he would build a church on the rock. Immediately after this confession, the Lord went up to Jerusalem to meet with the elders and chief priests. He tells us that He will suffer many things by the scribes, take up the cross, and die, and that He will rise from the dead on the third day as prophesied through the mouths of the prophets in the Old Testament.
He tells us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow the Lord.-Denying yourself These days, there are a lot of disciples who follow the Lord, but everyone puts himself before the life of denying himself. Rather than doing what the Lord wants. I want to do what I want. Not my own, but God-centered, Bible-centered, church-centered life is a life of self-denial. It is not my will, but the will of God. I live for the glory of God, not for myself. It is to live.- Bearing one's own cross Bearing the cross is even more difficult. What is the cross for the Lord that you gave me? It is too insufficient or difficult to do, but if it is the way for the Lord, it is to be received with gratitude. Perhaps to take up the cross is to have a sense of responsibility.-Following the Lord Following the Lord is not simply following the path, (the newsletter contains 6 attitudes toward Jesus)
: Think deeply, look, embrace, learn, follow, tell)
To be willing to lay down one's life for the Lord is to follow the Lord.--For the Lord's sake means by faith in the Lord. Many Christians believe in "for me" rather than "for the sake of the Lord." I live. Let's think about who I am actually doing what I do. The Apostle Paul said, live or die, eat or drink, do it for the glory of Christ. - Laying down one's life is only one life. The price of your life is more precious than the world. Ultimately, you are giving something more precious than the world to the Lord.
If you follow the Lord, you will meet the Lord when He comes - He will reward you according to what you have done. He is a God who makes you reap according to what you so and rewards you according to what you have done. He is a just God. - You will see the crown of the Lord. is.
