Title: The Road to Holiness

content addition>

The road to holiness (John 15:1-8)

Human nature has natural desires that are God-given. These desires cause conflict in our religious life. It is because they feel guilty and suffer, and they grieve the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, the grace of holiness is necessary. One of the greatest blessings for believers is the blessing of holiness.

1. The meaning of holiness

(1) Ritual sanctification meaning to be set apart.

(2) Practical sanctification The sanctification that begins with regeneration ends in glory (Romans 8:30).

2. Recognize the need for holiness

(1) For Christians, the recognition that they must be sanctified is most important (Ephesians 1:4-5).

(2) In order to fully please God, we must receive the grace of holiness (Romans 8:7, Hebrews 12:14).

3. Relationship with Jesus

(1) If you have recognized the need for sanctification, you must strive to restore your relationship with Jesus (verses 1-2).

(2) We must repent of our sins and be washed with the blood of the cross (verse 3).

4. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit.

(1) The human heart is where the Spirit of God works (Exodus 28:3, 1 Samuel 10:9).

(2) The filling of the Holy Spirit is the filling of Jesus. That is, if we are to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we must imitate the heart of Jesus (Romans 8:29, Philippians 2:1-10).

5. Why do Christians fail to become sanctified?

(1) It is because human beings tried to sanctify themselves (verses 4-5).

(2) It is because of the lack of God's Word (verse 3, John 17:17).

We become sanctified only when we seek the fruit that reveals God's glory in society and dedicate ourselves to it (verses 7-8).

When people momentarily believe in Jesus as their Savior, they experience the grace of holiness.

However, actual sanctification begins with regeneration and continues through a continuous process until the last life. In the past, you tried to be sanctified to be free from your inner sin, but now you must sanctify in order to bear fruit. Because unless you are sanctified, you cannot bear fruit. In order to actively go out into the world and bear fruit, we must move forward toward social holiness through a clean life.
