Title: The Sabbath Ordained by God

Contents

(Genesis 2:1~3)

Sabbath ordained by God

(2012.01.22. Afternoon)

Now we observe one Sunday a week. - The day we observe the resurrection of our Lord Jesus is the Lord's Day.

Although the meaning is the same, the first basis for keeping this Sunday was the Sabbath.

We must learn what the first Sabbath was and how to keep it.

Although the meaning of the Sabbath was gradually extended to the anniversary of salvation and the anniversary of the resurrection, the first Sabbath was the anniversary of creation.

1. The first day after creation.

(2:1)-“The heavens and the earth and all things came to pass”

(2:2)-“God finished the work that he had done on the seventh day...”

In six days, God Himself created the heavens and the earth. The last created creation is, of course, a person in the image of God.

It means a lot to us that the Sabbath was the first day after creation.

*The world God created was a very beautiful world - On the Sabbath, we need to remember the beautiful world God created and restore our sense of duty to make the world beautiful.

*The world God created was a world without lack - Knowing that on the Sabbath we are filled with dissatisfaction due to human greed - we must restore our gratitude in the world God has given us.

I pray that you will enjoy the thrill of the first day you greeted each week while looking at the world that is not lacking at all and is extremely beautiful.

2. It is the day God rested.

The first day after creation - it is not a day that people set and keep with their meaning in mind.

It is the day that God first ordained a special day.

(2:2)-“On the seventh day God finished what he had been doing, and he rested on the seventh day from all that he had been doing.”

That day was not a day when there were many people in the world.

It was the day only Adam and Eve lived. - Therefore, you don't have to tell me to keep that day.

It was a time when Adam and Eve had to follow what God had done.

That day, God Himself stopped working. And you rested. - What more needs to be said?

Adam and Eve naturally did just as God had done - on the Sabbath, they stopped working and rested in peace.

*The day when God Himself rested, *The day when Adam and Eve also rested, - This is the day when we should stop working in the world and rest in peace, just as God did and Adam and Eve did.

3. It is a day blessed by God.

The day God rested after finishing creation saying it was very good - It was not just a day of rest on that good day.

That day - a day of satisfaction - God did something special.

(2:3) - “God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day he rested from all the work that he had created and made.”

Looking at the beautiful world he had created - he was satisfied with how good it was - that good day - the day he made the whole world a blessing.

It is the day you made it a blessing, so this day is a blessed day.

If you do not keep the blessed day, you will not enjoy that blessing.

However, those who keep this blessed day will of course receive the blessing given on this day as well.

*God is a blessing.

*Sunday is a day blessed by God.

*Now all we have left to do is - As long as you keep this Sabbath day well - you will become a blessed person.

(Chapter 285 Hymn)-<I am so happy and blessed on the day I received the word of the Lord. I can't overcome my happy heart, and I send it to the whole world. day>

Do not miss the opportunity on this blessed day - I pray that you will keep the Sunday and receive all the blessings God has given you.

4. It is a day that God has made holy.

Holy God - He also made holy the day he rested.

(2:3) - “God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day he rested from all the work that he had created and made.”

It is a day sanctified by a holy God - that's why we call the Sabbath another holy day (holy day).

How should we keep this holy day - this holy day - made holy by the Holy God?

Man must not defile the day that God has sanctified.

This day must be kept holy.

*When a person who was created in God's image - sinned to lose God's image - death came to mankind.

*If God sanctifies the day - if that holiness is damaged again - God has no choice but to give a corresponding punishment.

*Let's keep holy the days that God has made holy.

We saw today - what the Sabbath is.

*The day God finished creation - God's creation is a beautiful creation and a perfect creation with no shortages. - On the Sabbath, the anniversary of creation - Thank God for this beautiful and satisfying world.

*This is the day God rested - This is not the day that God rested because of hardship - This is the day he set the example for us to rest as well - God set the example for rest - Please stop working in the world every Sunday and enjoy the blessing of rest.

*The Sabbath is a day that God has blessed - I pray that you will receive all the blessings God has given you by keeping this day well.

*The Sabbath is a day that God has made holy. - Keep it with a godly body and mind so as not to damage this day in any way.
