Contents
A. Introduction
1. Attributes of sin: It must grow (sin grows up).
2. Consequences of crime: 1) Severance of relationship with God 2) Separation of marital relationship (transfer of responsibility) 3) Severance of sibling relationship (Genesis 4:8) 4) Divided into people of faith and people of unbelief: The cause is a sacrificial event
B. Body: A sacrifice accepted by God
1. God is pleased with the first things: Abel offers the firstborn lamb (v. 4a)
1) God commanded us to consecrate the first (birth) (Exodus 13:2, 12, 13. Proverbs)
2) First thing: a life prepared before writing
3) Let's preserve the tradition of preparing clean money in advance on Saturday.
2. God who accepts good things with pleasure: He offered the fat of the sheep (v. 4a).
1) Ordained by the sacrificial method to burn the fat first and then to give it to God - The symbol of the best: The sins of the evil sons of the priest Eli 1 Samuel 2:15
3. God is pleased with life itself: The Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering (v. 4b).
1) God who received Abel before mentioning the sacrifice.
2) The God who rebukes Cain's wrong life before the blood of the sacrifice: If you have a good heart, how can you not lift up your face? (Verse 4b)
3) Giving is a symbol of the heart to dedicate one’s whole life: ‘After first giving oneself to the Lord’ (2 Corinthians 8:5)
4) The poor boy Livingston's offering
4. God accepts the sacrifice of faith: ‘Abel offered a better sacrifice to God through faith than Cain’ (Hebrews 11:4 1 p. 364).
1) ‘Without faith no one can please God’ (Hebrews 11:6a).
2) By faith Abel became the father of faith ('By faith, Abel offered a better sacrifice to God than Cain. God was pleased with Abel's sacrifice and called him a righteous man. Abel died, but his faith was still there. (Hebrews 11:4)' Cain, who lacked faith, became the father of unbelief.
3) Cain's path without faith is destroyed: Jude
(1) He destroyed all those who did not believe (verse 5b)
(2) Misfortune will come to them. They followed Cain's path... (v. 11a)
C. Conclusion
1. God's love to save Cain's descendants
1) Cain sinned and left God (Cain left the presence of the Lord and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden (4:16))
2) However, God wanted to protect him. (‘The Lord made a mark on Cain, so that no matter who Cain wanted, that man would not kill Cain. (Genesis 4:15))
3) ‘The sound of Abel’s blood is calling to me from the ground.’ (Genesis 4:10)
4) In Hebrews 12:24, “You have come near to the blood of Christ, who brought you better news than the blood of Abel.”
5) Like Cain, the blood of Jesus Christ betrays the Lord and hates his brothers, but God does not give up his love.
2. Let us love us endlessly in our lives and offer sacrifices that are worthy of God's acceptance. Sacrifices that are pleasing to God are 1) first things, 2) good things, 3) life itself, and 4) sacrifices of faith.
