Title: Saints Who Walk with God

Bible: Genesis 5:21-24

Starting Point of the Word>>

This time, we would like to share a message with the title of “Saints who walk with God.”

Genesis 5 records the genealogy of the descendants of Adam.

The main content of the text is being repeated over and over again as “who gave birth to whom at what age, and lived for a few years, and then died.”

Most people at that time lived to be over 900 years old, but Enoch lived a much shorter life of 365 years.

However, what can be said that his life is more blessed than others is that he did not see death while walking with God and was transferred to the kingdom of heaven.

The ascension of Enoch means that death is not the end, but that beyond death there is a heaven where humans can live, and that human souls never die, they are immortal beings, and also shows the model of the saints who will be raised up in the last days.

Therefore, living a long life on this earth does not necessarily mean being blessed.

Unbelievers say that living a long life among blessings is also a blessing.

However, what kind of life you walk with God is more important than how long you live.

Because the end of those who commune with God and walk with God is not dust, not a cemetery, but an eternal resting place, the kingdom of heaven.

Many people struggled to escape death, but all failed.

But Enoch did not try to escape death.

He did not see death because he walked with God.

Only the way of walking with God is the way of eternal life and the way of blessing.

The word “accompanying” here does not mean simply living with God and walking together.

It means to make oneself completely conform to God's will, to walk and live in accordance with God's will.

Soon the will of God became the will of Enoch.

We believe that a life of faith means working hard for the Lord.

Working hard for the Lord is so beautiful.

But the problem is that working for the Lord can be completely contrary to the Lord's will.

The greatest success in our life should be in experiencing the Lord, knowing and obeying the Lord's will rather than work or success.

Go to Word>>

Then, how did Enoch live a life of walking with God?

First, because Enoch knew that God was the judge.

As saints, we too must realize that God is the judge.

Enoch was not given special powers to walk with God like Elijah.

Also, as Moses was a great servant of God, he did not walk with him.

Enoch was a very ordinary person, living in sin just like us.

According to Genesis 5:21-22,

“Enoch was sixty-five years old when he begot Methuselah, and after he begot Methuselah, he walked with God three hundred years, and had children

Says.

Enoch had a son when he was 65 years old, and after giving birth to a son, he walked with God for 300 years.

This means that Enoch did not walk with God before giving birth to a son.

Enoch's father's name is Jared, which means 'going down', and the meaning of Enoch (Hanoch) is 'spear, javelin'.

The meaning of the name Enoch is the same as that of Cain.

Not only by his name, but the time he lived in was one full of sin.

If we look at the words of Genesis 6:5-6,

“When the Lord saw that the world was full of man’s iniquity, and that all the plans of his heart were always evil, he lamented that he had created man on the earth, and his heart was grieved.”

Says.

So God calls Enoch one day and says to Enoch.

“Enoch! The world has become so evil! I, the holy and righteous Jehovah, can no longer tolerate the unrighteousness of the world, and I will judge this world. By that sign you will bear a son, and you shall name him Methuselah.”

So Enoch obeyed the word and had a son, and he named him Methuselah.

The meaning of the name Methuselah is mut (to die) and shelach (to send).

The meaning of this word is, “If the child dies, I will send a flood judgment.”

Every time Enoch saw Methuselah, he said, “It was said that if the child dies, judgment will come.” Every time he looked at the child, he thought of God’s judgment.

In this way, the change of Enoch's life began from the moment he realized God's judgment.

Enoch was not a special person, he had sons and daughters just like us and lived an ordinary life.

This means that not only special people can walk with God, but even ordinary people can walk with God.

In this way, Enoch's life changed from the moment he realized and believed in God's judgment.

If we, too, believe that God judges, our lives will be different.

When Enoch heard that Methuselah died, God's judgment would begin, and he believed and walked with God.

Therefore, from the moment we realize God's judgment, we will establish a right relationship with God and live a life that walks with God, so I ask you in the name of the Lord to become all the saints who remember that there will be judgment after death.

Second, Enoch knew that God is a God of love.

God is not only righteous, but he is also very loving.

If we overemphasize only God's righteousness and judgment, we may feel afraid of God and leave.

But God is the Lord of judgment and at the same time he is the One who surrounds us with love.

To forgive us and restore holy communion with God, the Lord gave up all the glory of heaven and came to sinners first.

This is also evident in the life of Enoch.

The name of Methuselah was said to mean ‘when he dies, the judgment of the flood will come.’ In fact, when Methuselah died, God’s judgment came.

Methuselah was 187 years old when she had Lamech, and Lamech was 182 years old when she had Noah.

When Noah was born, his grandfather Methuselah was 369 years old.

Methuselah was the longest-lived man in the Bible and lived to the age of 969.

However, when we look at the words of Genesis 7:11-12, a surprising fact appears.

Methuselah was 369 years old when Noah was born. The year Noah was 600 years old was the year Methuselah was 969 years old.

“In the six hundredth year of Noah’s year, in the second month, on the twelfth day of the month, on that day the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened, and it rained upon the earth forty days and forty nights.”

When Methuselah died, as the name suggests, the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened, and rain poured down on the earth for forty days and forty nights, thus beginning Noah's judgment of flood.

God kept his promise.

When Methuselah died, judgment would come, so God made him live long.

That is why God was patient with this evil world for a long time.

God had to judge this wicked generation full of sins right away, but He endured it with love.

The love of God is the moment we come before the Lord and confess our sins, he forgives us and restores fellowship with God.

Because Enoch trusted and followed the God of love and forgiveness, God forgave him and walked with him.

According to 1 John 1:9,

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Said.

I hope this time will be a precious time to realize all our sins and lay down everything before the God who loves and forgives us.

Third, Enoch realized that God is a rewarder.

According to Hebrews 11:5-6,

“By faith Enoch was transferred so that he might not see death, and God had removed him, and he was found no more. Without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.”

I did.

Enoch says that he walked with God by faith and was transferred to heaven.

In this verse, it is said that those who walk with God will surely receive a reward. What kind of reward is that?

① Receive praise for pleasing God.

Enoch had the honor of being a man pleasing to God.

It is truly commendable to say that you became human and please God.

When a child is filial, he receives a filial piety award and gives the honor of being a filial piety as proof that he loved a man.

And he gives the honor of being a loyal servant to a servant who gave his life for the king.

Today, Enoch was given the great honor of being one who pleases God.

② I was blessed to be transferred to heaven without seeing death.

Faith moves from death to life.

The words of John 5:24,

“He who hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

③ His descendants were blessed.

According to Genesis 6:9,

“This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a righteous man and perfect in his time, and he walked with God.”

Because of our ancestor Enoch, who walked with God, a descendant, Noah, who walked with God was possible.

Noah lived a godly life despite the wickedness of the world.

That is why he was recognized as righteous and perfect.

④ I have received the blessing of giving God Himself.

The reason people fell in the days of Enoch was that Abel offered a sacrifice that was pleasing to God, and when Abel died, people could not believe in God's justice.

So, they left God and lived according to their own will, and the world fell.

But Enoch believed that God was the rewarder.

According to Genesis 15:1,

“… I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward.”

said

God has promised to reward those who seek Him.

God expressed his most passionate love, saying, “I will give it to you.”

In this way, Enoch received this kind of God as a reward in its entirety.

In the name of the Lord, I ask that you, in the name of the Lord, become saints who walk with God by abandoning my will and accepting the Lord's will so that we can also receive this award.

At the end of the speech>>

Organize your words.

All human beings are created to walk with God.

When you walk with God, there is joy, there is safety, and there is happiness.

I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will become saints who always walk with God like Enoch through every moment of your life, and become believers who are God's great joy and pride.
