Title: The Same Christ / Hebrews 13:1-8
The same Christ / Hebrews 13:1-8
One writer describes how difficult it is to maintain a happy marriage as follows. 20s: Living excitedly with dreams of happiness 30s: Living with disappointment and feeling disappointed with each other 40s: Giving up everything and living with reluctance Living with a heart, 60s: living with pity because we thought it was bad for each other, 70s: I live because I am grateful for just being patient with me until now. At the beginning of the marriage, I heard that she said she couldn't live because she couldn't, but when she turned 70, she told her husband that she didn't know how she got on with this.
Not only this. Even at home, when you have one child, when you have two, and when you have three are different. My husband cooks a side dish. When there is only one, the wife's answer is "Isn't it delicious?... Wait for me. I'll make something delicious." When it was two, "It's fine, why? Not even children..." When three, "It's full!" Even when ironing a shirt, when there is only one child, the wife's response is, "Give me, why is a man doing this? I'll do it." When we were two, I said, "Can't you help me? There's a lot of back and forth between kids." At the age of three, "(Wrinkles wrinkled all the time after washing...) Dress yourself up and go."
It may not seem like that much, but life at home is so different. Where is the only thing that will change? Look at the change of fashion today. The tie also narrowed and widened. The trousers have also narrowed and widened. The skirt went up and down. You can also see the hair color changing.
How many changes are our lives these days? Sociologists analyze that 60 years ago, people in the 1930s needed 72 kinds of living conditions and 18 things they absolutely needed. Now, 500 things are needed and 50 things are absolutely necessary. Sixty years ago, there were no televisions, there were no fast-moving cars, refrigerators, computers, jars, vacuum cleaners, and medicine was not as advanced as it is today, so many people died of disease. The relationship between a yangban and a servant was an insurmountable wall, and women's social activities were unimaginable. Compared to that, how much has our life changed now?
In the past, the term megachurch was used a lot. It means a big church. But these days, the word meta-church is more important than the word mega-church. Meta means change. It should be a church that is not afraid of change. Our church will move to the land of life and the work of life will take place. Think of which one is an effective way to save a life. Don't be afraid to change, thinking about how to do better to save lives. Our church should not boast that it is a mega-church, but that our church is a meta-church that is not afraid of change for the sake of saving lives.
The church, which is afraid of change by emphasizing tradition, is always reciting the past and saying, “Oh! However, Meta Church "continues to plan for the future." Our church is a church that moves forward vigorously toward the future on the basis of good tradition. A church that emphasizes tradition only works in the same way it has always been doing since the past. However, the meta-church, a church that is not afraid of change, boldly accepts new things and gives them spiritual vitality.
Let's take an example. Worship in traditional churches has a dark, heavy atmosphere of worship. Our surroundings these days are bright and lively. If you fail to adjust to such a heavy worship service and leave the church and lose your vitality, what do you think is right? Do you think worship should be a heavy type of worship even if people leave? Or do you think that the atmosphere of worship should be bright, joyful, and festival-like so that modern people can easily approach it?
Our church should not be afraid of change in order to save lives. We have a clear purpose. What can be done to save lives? How will the saints be filled with spiritual vitality? How does worship restore spiritual vitality in us? How is the organizational chart of the church a way to revitalize it? If it is the way to save one life, we should not be afraid of change. If the method is full of vitality, we should not be afraid of change.
But even if the whole world changes, there is a truth that does not change. It is a confession that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So what is the same thing? The obvious answer is that Jesus is the solver of problems yesterday, today, and forever. The content of the problem continues to change, but the answer to the problem is ultimately in Jesus. Every family has problems. But in the end, the answer to that question lies with Jesus.
Read the Bible. How many people around Jesus had various problems? Even blind people met Jesus and the problem was solved. Even those who could not hear came to Jesus and it was resolved. Even those who couldn't walk became able to walk. Even hemiplegics were able to maintain an intact body. The way was opened for the woman who was pursued for adultery. Saul, who was trying to get a job by arresting people who believe in Jesus, also met Jesus and a new life was opened.
Various problems presented in the Bible. various events. various limitations. These things change over and over, but in the end, it is the unchanging truth that the solution lies with Jesus.
In Greek times, the issue of death was at the center of them. How can we solve this problem of death? When our lives end in vain with death, how can we solve this problem? When faced with this problem, the problem was solved by the resurrection of Christ. The problem of death approaching everyone with anxiety. The solution to this problem of death is Jesus.
In the Reformation era, the problem of sin could not be solved. How can you deal with the guilt in your heart? It is not a problem to be solved by washing your body. When we were struggling with these problems, the Lord was our solution. Martin Luther emphasizes the grace of the Lord. By the grace of the Lord we are forgiven The Lord taught us the grace of forgiveness for the problem of sin that humans cannot solve on their own. The Lord forgives our sins. The content of this gospel that the Lord forgives our sins ultimately solves the problem of sin.
This gospel crosses over to America and begins to be preached. At that time, there was a slave problem in America, and racism was a serious problem. Ultimately, these problems were solved through the gospel of Jesus.
The gospel has entered our country. Our country was very poor. Eating and living was a problem that our country had to solve. The answer to this question also belongs to the Lord. When we depend on the Lord, we can live a blessed life.
As such, the problems we continue to have are different. Our problems change. But the clear truth is that no matter what problem there is, the solution to it is Christ. The answer to the problem lies with Christ.
The problems in our lives are constantly changing. But the answer to that question lies with Jesus, yesterday, today, and tomorrow forever.
Humans have important needs. There are largely safety needs and meaning needs. How can I live safely? Get a job for a safe life. make a house collect money Maintain relationships with friends. A safe way to survive. However, solving the safety issue does not solve the problem. How to live truly meaningful life? How to live a truly rewarding life? come to these problems.
The answer to this is also in Jesus. When our country suffers from poverty, the Lord becomes a source of blessing to us and solves the problem of survival. How to live truly meaningful life? How to live a truly rewarding life? The answer here is also clear. Living for Jesus Christ.
Dear saint! What problem do you have? Each person's problem is different. Problems continue to change over time. The way we express ourselves continues to change. The way we worship God also changes. The organization of the church may also be different. The appearance of the chapel may also change. But the unchanging and clear truth is that no matter what problem there is, be sure that the solution to the problem lies with Christ.
There are several departments in the hospital. There are various departments such as internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and otolaryngology. Sometimes, when your side hurts, you often don't know which part to look for for this disease. In surgery alone, there are many departments such as general surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and plastic surgery. There is one body, but when you go to the hospital to treat this disease, sometimes you don't know which department to find and solve it.
However, no matter how many and varied the problems we face, in the end, the solution to those problems lies with Christ.
Up to now, God has protected our church and has been a solution whenever our church is faced with difficulties. We believe that the Lord is the same and will be our solution.
Are there any problems you are experiencing? I believe that the Lord who is always the same will be the solution to the problem.
