Title: The Satisfying Fruit of Joseph
Contents 惻? On Sunday, the persimmons of the church were harvested and tasted at lunch. Let's take a look at the many blessings Joseph received with great anticipation of the harvest as autumn approaches. The text is Moses' blessing on the tribe of Joseph (Deuteronomy 33:1). The tribe of Judah received political blessings and the tribe of Levi received religious blessings. Looking at the blessings of the tribe of Joseph:
1. Abundant blessings of material things 13~15
(1) Abundance of water resources 13~ “Joseph . . . the land was blessed by the Lord, and the treasures of heaven, the dew, and the earth, and water” The earth was cursed because man sinned (Genesis 3: 17, 4:11-12), God will restore the land for the tribe of Joseph so that water resources, that is, water, will be abundant. The dew makes the land fertile and yields a bountiful harvest (Gen 27:28), and it gives rain to bear fruit (James 5:18). It means material wealth and fertility, and it symbolizes the abundance of households. The word “treasure” in this verse is “meged” in the original language, which means “something of great value”. So, what does “very valuable” mean to us? Through Jesus Christ, spiritually, the rain of grace and the work of life are abundant. We must pray for it. If you do, He will give you what you need in reality (Matthew 6:33).
(2) Satisfying special products 14~15 “Verse 14, “Bomuro, which makes the sun disappear, is the sun…” The most important thing next to water is the history of the sun and moonlight. is to achieve. “Verse 15, the commodities of the ancient mountain, and the treasures of the hillside forever” The first half of this verse refers to the hill country of Ephraim, which will be Joseph’s territory, and refers to its specialties: the milk and oil of cattle and sheep, and the fine wheat and wine (Deuteronomy 32). :14). The second half is found in Jacob's blessing (Gen. 49:26), which is the lowland territory, or “mountain,” in which the tribe of Joseph will inhabit, where various fruit trees and titles are “treasures” of the mountain. If the saints keep their unchanging faith like the “mountain of old”, they can receive and enjoy the immovable prosperity of the Joseph tribe. These graces and blessings will be fulfilled in our inheritance as well as the fertile land and the mountains.
2. It will be done by grace 16~
“Blessed are the treasures of the earth, and the grace of those who dwelt among the thorns…” This is the God Moses saw on Mount Horeb in 40 years (Exodus 3:2-4). It means doing it and keeping it. Because God keeps the covenant with the saints and blesses his descendants, Jacob also received a similar blessing before (Genesis 49:22-26). The blessing of obtaining abundant underground resources is accomplished “by the good will and grace” of God. “The one set apart among his brothers” refers to God sending Joseph to Egypt and saving the entire family of Israel from famine through him. When we believe that our entire life is God’s grace, we give thanks.
3. Prosperity and status increase 17~
“He is as majestic as the first bullock, and his horns are tens of thousands of Ephraim, and thousands of Manasseh.” 2), this “horn”, also called “bison horn”, also means power that knows no fear or fear. In fact, in Israel's history, Joshua, the female judge Deborah (Judges 4:4~), Iga like Gideon (Judges 6:11~), and the horned wild oxen like Joshua and the Gentiles, their status was great. “Thousands of Ephraim, and thousands of Manasseh” This is a blessing for the prosperity and honor of the tribe of Joseph. After the conquest of Canaan, the land the two brothers were given was the fertile land west of the Jordan (Gen. 48:13-20). After the conquest of Canaan, the land the two brothers were given was the fertile land west of the Jordan (Joshua 16:1~17:18), and it accounted for 1/4 of the entire territory.
[Conclusion] Moses believed God's covenant and blessed the tribe of Joseph, but it was all accomplished by God's grace. Our field has passed its fruit and has entered the season of harvest. Like Moses, if we believe in the Bible, God's covenant, pray, and wait for Jesus' answer, all will come true (John 15:7)
