Title: The Secret of the Great Gospel
content addition>
The great mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 3:1-12)
1. The Gospel to the Gentiles (vv. 1-5).
(1) Jesus Christ is the gospel. This is the best news (Luke 2:10). When the time came, God sent Jesus into the human world (verse 2). In fact, the Son of God has been prophesied through several prophets (verse 5).
(2) In the case of the Apostle Paul: On his way to Damascus to arrest the fanatics, Paul met the resurrected Lord. Paul received a revelation from God and wrote 13 books of the New Testament (verse 3). When we read the Word of God, we come to know the mystery of Christ (verse 4).
2. The mystery of the gospel is that Gentiles become heirs of God (verse 6).
(1) The greatest secret of God's revelation is that Gentiles like us believe in Jesus as Savior and become God's heirs.
(2) Now, the saints who have realized the mystery of this gospel must become workers according to the power of God (verse 7). And you must become an evangelist (verse 8). When the gospel is preached, the hidden mystery of God is revealed (verse 9).
3. God makes the mystery of the gospel known through the church. This is foreordained in Christ (vv. 10-11).
(1) God has given the church a universal blessing.
(2) So, only those who have the mystery of the gospel can come to God boldly (verse 12).
We did not come to worship as spectators. In order to receive what God has prepared, we must boldly approach the throne of grace (verse 12, Hebrews 4:16).
The apostle Paul was convinced that he had become an apostle who had received power for the gospel and preached the gospel to the Gentiles. That is why we strive to spread the gift of grace abundantly. We need to know that God is calling souls to be saved, especially through the church. Therefore, our church should also become a church with zealous believers who share the gospel.
