The secret to restoring joy and gratitude" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
As it is already less than 5 months in a year, we need to restore the faith that has fallen behind or has lost its faith. We must restore worship, restore first love, restore prayer and praise, and restore our mission. Today, we would like to receive grace together by witnessing the Word under the title “The secret to restoring joy and gratitude.”
1. A life of joy and thanksgiving is God's command and God's will.
God has commanded His chosen people, His children, to live a life of joy and thanksgiving, and that is the will of God. Because it is a command from God, we must obey it. You should always live with joy and gratitude. Saints! May you always live with joy and gratitude. A person who is always happy and lives happily is healthy. A laughter of joy removes toxins from the body and transforms the constitution. That is why it is said that people who live happily ever after smiling rarely suffer from depression, insomnia or gastrointestinal diseases. It is said that when you get angry, poison is created in your body, and when you laugh, the poison in your body comes out.
Proverbs 17:22 says, "A happy heart is good medicine, but a troubled spirit dries up the bones." Our Christianity is a religion of joy. He said that Jesus rejoiced with the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul said that he rejoices greatly in the Lord.
A life of joy does not come from circumstances or possessions. Were Paul's circumstances favorable? no. What good did Paul possess? no. Rather, the Apostle Paul suffered great suffering, hunger, cold, beaten, and even suffered in prison. Still, the apostle Paul was always happy. In the book of Philippians he wrote, he emphasized rejoicing and rejoicing when you open your mouth even while in prison. Why could you be so happy? In short, it was because of Jesus.
It is because he met Jesus, who is the resurrection and the life, on the road to Damascus. When he met Jesus, his heart was filled with joy. I was so happy I couldn't stay. He ran all over the world, spreading the tidings of joy. The Apostle Paul always lived with joy.
So he said, "I rejoice greatly in the Lord", "Rejoice in the Lord", "Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord" (3:1). "Rejoice in the Lord always." I did. I pray in the name of the Lord that all of us may discover the true fountain of joy in Jesus Christ and become saints overflowing with joy and gratitude in it.
Dear saints, Believing is really important for us, but it is also important to live. The Bible says that faith without life is itself dead.
The most beautiful people in the world are those who are grateful. Even the happiest person in the world is someone who knows how to be grateful. A grateful person is a beautiful person, and an unthankful person is an unattractive and unhappy person.
Gratitude comes when you have a heart that knows how to be grateful. If you have a grateful heart, you will be grateful for everything. When it rains, thank you for the rain, and when it snows, thank you for the snow. The ungrateful person is all dissatisfied, and all is dissatisfied. When it rains, it rains and complains, and when it snows, it snows and complains. That's why the Apostle Paul said, "Speak thanks" (Ephesians 5:4) instead of useless words, foolish words, and mockery. David told them to sing a song of thanksgiving. “Come before him with singing; give thanks to him and bless his name” (Psalm 100:2,4). I did.
We should be thankful that we are God's saved people and that we are still protected and protected and given the glorious hope of heaven. We should be thankful that God has preserved our lives even now.
2. But why can't many people enjoy a life of joy and gratitude?
The reason is that there are elements around our lives that destroy our lives of joy and gratitude, regardless of God's will. Because of excessive greed and greed in humans, joy and gratitude are often deprived of it. We see too many cases around us where we do not consider ourselves to be satisfied with what we have and fall into unhappiness on our own because we are anxious for not having more.
And too often, human pride and poor circumstances destroy our happiness and take away our joy and gratitude. Our enemy the devil is like a weeping limb, seeking whom to devour. Therefore, the Bible stresses us to pray without ceasing. We cannot always rejoice in our human strength and ability. I can't thank you for everything. Rather, they fall into the world and only grumble and complain, leading to an unhappy life.
We must possess the power of God. We must live in the grace of God. That way, you can always be happy and give thanks in everything. Therefore, the Bible emphasizes that you should pray without ceasing. In other words, we cannot always rejoice without prayer, and we cannot give thanks in everything without prayer. Dear saints, We must watch and pray and receive the power of God in prayer without ceasing. I believe that when we experience God's power every day and live by faith, the God of peace will be with us and lead us to live a life of joy and gratitude.
