(Genesis 25:1) Abraham took a second wife, and her name was Keturah.

(Genesis 25:2) And he begot Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shua.

(Genesis 25:3) They begot Jokshan, Sheba, and Dedan, and the descendants of Dedan were the Assyrians, the Letushites, and the Leummiites.

(Genesis 25:5) Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

(Genesis 25:6) And he also gave wealth to his sons and daughters, so that while he was still alive, they left Isaac their son and went to the East, that is, to the East.

< Sermon >

The year 2002 has passed like a lifetime, and it is already the last week of the year. After one year, ten years, and twenty years pass, the time will come when we will one day settle our lives before the Lord. Thinking of these things, I hope that you and I will humbly live for the Lord.

In the sense that we should have a beautiful settlement of accounts at the end of the year, today I will tell you three things about the beautiful appearance of Abraham, the father of faith, who lived by faith and settled his life with faith even when he died.

first. You can see that Abraham had his life in order before he died.

Abraham had three wives before he died at the age of 175. He had many children through his three wives. So, if you do not arrange your property, you will distribute the land and property to your sons before you die for fear that there will be a dispute between them in the future. (Genesis 25:5-6)

Because Abraham arranged his estate before he died, he was able to avoid disputes, and his son Isaac was able to receive his father's inheritance and live in the land with blessings. Even around us, we can often see children having disputes because their parents do not arrange their property before they die. It's because they didn't finish their lives well.

Now 2002 is coming to an end. The long-awaited year of 2003 will come, and in order to lead the new year in the midst of a vision, you will need to organize your previous life well. Only two days left. I hope you will pay back what you have to pay, receive what you will receive, cut off all your old customs, arrange everything and welcome 2003. If we greet the new year without this sort of arrangement, no matter how much we have a vision, remember that we have no choice but to lead a life of faith amid pain and difficulties just like untangled threads of our faith.

second. It is written in the Bible that Abraham lived a satisfying life throughout his life.

At the age of 175, Abraham had tasted all the sweet and bitter tastes of life, but the Bible tells us that he lived a satisfying life.

Genesis 25:8) He was high in number, and because of his age, he was full of energy...

The word high here is "CONTENT", that is, satisfied with the English Bible. It is written to mean that he lived a satisfactory life and died at the age of 175 from exhaustion.

Abraham did not know God until he was 75 years old, and he lived in the land of idols, Ur of the Chaldeans. He received God's command and went to the land God directed, and he enjoyed a life of walking with God for 100 years. He may not have had much in his walk with God. However, he lived a happy life. Having a lot may be a condition for happiness, but it is not a necessary and sufficient condition. He was happy because of God. Because he lived a life of walking with God for 100 years, he had the life of God in it, and he lived a satisfying life because he had God's comfort even when it was difficult and difficult at times.

Have you been happy because of God over the past year? Are you satisfied? This is a truly beautiful life of faith. God took care of us and we did not receive much materially, but because we had a rich life that God gave us, and because God was with me, I pray that you and I will be able to confess that the past year has been a happy one.

third. Abraham made the settlement of passing on his blessings to his children.

What do you think true blessing is? If I only think about believing in Jesus, being saved and living a blessed life, that's only 50 points. First, God wants me to believe in Jesus and be saved and blessed. And he wants me to become a channel of blessing so that other people can receive blessings through me. When my work is blessed, my family is blessed, and my neighbors and people around me are blessed because of me, that is a 100-point faith.

God told Abraham that it would be a source of blessing. And through Abraham, he blessed his son Isaac.

(Genesis 25:11) After Abraham died, God blessed his son Isaac...

First of all, Abraham was blessed, and his faith and blessings were passed on to his son, and God blessed his son. This is the conclusion of Abraham's faith.

How are you? Did you believe in Jesus and receive the blessings of riches and life from the Lord? If so, are you the channels of that blessing so that your children inherit your faith and blessings? God is asking this this morning.

Now, as we close down the year, please think about whether we did well. I hope you are in good order, just as Abraham organized his surroundings well a year ago. And after a year has passed, please confess that you were happy because of God. And I want this kind of faith to be passed down to my children and to those around me, so that people around me, my workplace, and my family will all be blessed because of me. I bless you and me in the name of Jesus. - Amen -
