Title: The Son of Man Who Hidden Glory
Contents Hymns/ 355, 356
Introduction
Dear saint! Mark 8:22-38 wrote that if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of the Father with the holy angels. Jesus called himself the Son of Man. It means son of man. Jesus had to reveal himself as the Son of Man until he was exalted to the glory of the Father, God the Father.
First: Healing of the blind (Mark 8:22-26).
When he came to Bethsaida, people brought him to Jesus to heal the blind man. Just like when He healed a deaf and deaf person, He left people, took them out of the village, spit in their eyes, laid their hands on them, and healed them. These two miracles were foretold by the prophet Isaiah among the miracles that the Messiah would come and perform (Isaiah 35:5-6). When you see people performing these miracles, you can not only criticize them as unhygienic to spit on your tongue or put them on your eyes, but also because people may realize that you are the fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah and accept him as the Messiah of the Spirit, He is hiding the Messiahship. Therefore, Jesus commanded the blind not to go into the villages, but to go straight to their houses, just as to the deaf and deaf. Why do you think the Messiahship of Jesus should be a mystery?
Second: Peter's confession of faith (Mark 9:27-38).
Jesus went to the region of Caesarea Philippi and asked his disciples what people thought of him. And after receiving the answer, he asked the disciples' opinions. At this time, Peter confessed his faith that the Lord was the Christ. In other words, it was a confession that Jesus was the Messiah Israel was waiting for. Upon hearing this confession, Jesus warned his disciples not to tell anyone about him. Because Jesus, the Son of Man, must suffer many things, be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and then rise again on the third day. That is, because he must be the Messiah of suffering. When Peter heard this, he seized Jesus and begged him not to die, and Jesus rebuked him. And he said that followers of the Lord must be cross-bearers like the Lord. Giving life gives you life. Do you risk your life and live your faith? Are you not ashamed of the gospel?
conclusion
Dear saint! Until Jesus took up the cross, the Messiahship was a mystery. Now it is time to proclaim that Jesus is the Christ to all the earth. Let's not be ashamed of the gospel today, but let's testify vigorously. -Amen-
Prayer: Our Lord Jesus Christ! Help me today to confess that you are the Christ, the living God.
