Subject : The Source of Power We Can Do
One of the stupidest bets is the food bet. Not long ago, the person who won the first place in a eating lot and fast eating contest died the next day.
Can I eat 20 pieces of tofu for my friends to eat or not? He said he would give me a lot of money if I eat, and my friend asked for a little time, went out and confidently came in and played a bet. However, after eating about 15 grains, I couldn't eat any more, so I ended up losing, so I had to ask for money. But then that friend said (it's strange, obviously I ate outside)
Jesus took 3 disciples and experienced it on the mountaintop - When 9 disciples were waiting at the bottom of the mountain
ex) The father of the demon-possessed son asked his disciples, but he was having a hard time fixing it. However, the 9 disciples may have prayed confidently or without much difficulty or great anguish at first. Why ? Because of past experience (Mark 6:7)
But none of them could cure the demon-possessed son
How difficult, embarrassing, and helpless as time goes by, if there is even a mouse hole, the Lord will come and heal you.
We could have felt this kind of difficulty too. And we did this in the past, but in the past we had a lot of responses, but why is nothing happening to me now?
Why? So, how can I solve the situation and problems given to me?
Where is the source of the strength to do anything in the Christian life?
○ What is the source of our strength?
1. It is because they do not have faith (Mark 9:18--19).
ㅇ Jesus said that the reason his disciples did not do this was not because they had no ability, but because they did not have faith.
ㅇ The Lord has already given his disciples power (Mark 6:7)
ㅇThe reason the disciples could not heal the demon-possessed child was not because they had no power, but because they lacked faith.
※ Why did you not have faith?
First, fear among the disciples that the Lord is not with us now and that it is a big deal.
⊙ Together with Jesus - He always healed many people, and the disciples must have helped in the midst of it, screaming once in a while and healing together.
⊙ In the absence of Jesus - something happened, so you must have been afraid and embarrassed in your heart - Can we do it in our hearts?
Later, he overcame that fear himself and made a great battle with the People's Army.
Yes, the Lord has given us many potentials and possibilities, and has given us the power to be fruitful and multiply, to live a full life, to rule and to conquer.
Also, we must believe that the Holy Spirit has come to us and broke all sins, wounds, and curses through the cross.
have to believe this
We must believe that the Lord is with us through the Holy Spirit even though we cannot see it now, and then we can take off the cover of fear.
Fearless and complete faith is the source of the strength to do the job.
2. They must have had a false sense of inferiority
ㅇ When the Lord takes three people up the mountain and the other nine are at the bottom of the mountain
ㅇThey looked at each other and felt inferior to the three disciples who went up even if they did not speak.
ㅇJesus intentionally / accompanied Peter and James and John and they did many things later
James - First martyrdom
Apostle John - Returning to the Isle of Patmos - Writing the Book of Revelation
Peter Apostle repents many people - Persecution in Rome - Martyrdom (Quvadis)
There is no perfect equality in the world / There is no perfect equality in heaven
Talents are not given equally to everyone. God-given for that person
The person who received the 1 talent - In the end, he was rebuked for failing to work due to a sense of inferiority
Beloved Saints - The office or position in the church is not a place to be treated as in the world.
It is a place where you have to serve more, set an example even if it is difficult, and it is a place where you have to die.
That's right. Being a leader or a disciple in a church is like deciding the order of death first.
The nine disciples were unable to fully use their faith with a sense of inferiority. The source of my strength to do the work in front of me is not a feeling of inferiority, but the ability to show thanks for what I have given to me and do my best.
A feeling of inferiority prevents us from properly releasing energy in it, and we will definitely be able to do our best when we are grateful for the many energy, talents and gifts we have given us, and give up our inferiority complex consciousness and do our best.
We don't have to have a feeling of inferiority, because feeling of inferiority has nothing to do with us.
Let's let go of inferiority. Let's get rid of comparisons.
May you live in a right relationship with the Lord and use the power you have given me...
3. The disciples were unable to do anything because of lack of prayer (Mark 9:28--29)
They received power from the Lord, but they found it to be maintained.
ㅇ To the disciples, I saw the Lord praying even after waking up at dawn or getting tired late at night, but they thought that it was the Lord alone.
so is prayer
※ Why did the Lord pray for us at dawn or late at night in the midst of exhaustion?
To teach us that the Lord Himself works through prayer, and to let us know that if prayer is cut off, the supply of God's power will be cut off.
※ Where is the source of the power to solve our problems in a capable life?
What is faith and prayer - it not only leads to a miraculous life, but it also changes our lives.
When you believe and pray with certainty that the Holy Spirit is with you, the work will come true. Let's get rid of the incompetence of the nine disciples from our hearts.
