Title: The Sower / Matthew 13:1-9
Content The Sower / Matthew 13:1-9
In summer, children's Bible school, student/youth retreats, senior mountain crucifixion meetings, etc. are held. These events are the act of sowing seeds from a spiritual point of view. Since the seed is the word of God and is absolutely perfect, the result depends on the field, that is, each person's heart condition. Therefore, we must cultivate and care for the heart field and wait for abundant fruit. The sower means Christ. The Bible tells us that seeds are sown along roadsides, on rocky ground, on thorns, and on good soil. This is the message that tells us that there are four kinds of believers in the church.
First, it falls on the roadside (verse 4). When it falls on the roadside and you do not understand the word about the kingdom of heaven, the evil one comes and takes away the word sown in your heart. Seeds sown by the roadside mean those who do not understand the Word. It is difficult for the seeds of the gospel to take root in a mind that is prejudiced, proud, or closed to the truth.
Second, it is a case of falling on a rocky ground (verse 5). Since the rocky ground is covered with a thin layer of soil, it takes root, but not deeply. Falling on a rocky ground refers to a person who is willing to accept the Word but does not last long because the roots of faith are not deeply rooted in their hearts. They long for the blessings of Christ, but do not consider the sufferings of Christ, so when tribulation or persecution comes, they fall.
Third, when it fell on thorns (verse 7). Seed sown among thorns means that even though a seed has sprouted, it is difficult to grow properly because it is thorny.
Fourth, it is a case of falling on good soil (verse 8). What was sown on good soil refers to those who hear the word with an honest and good heart, keep it, and bear fruit with patience. In other words, it refers to a person who lives a religious life with the determination to resist worldly worries and material temptations while keeping faith in the midst of tribulation with longing for the truth. This person is a believer who receives the word of God with joy, obeys and obeys it, and bears fruit 30, 60, 100 times. However, these four fields of mind need not be viewed as fixed or fateful. Roadsides, stone fields, and thorns can also be cleared, removed by breaking stones, and burning thorns to make good soil. This clearing work can be done by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, when you give your heart to the Holy Spirit and obey the work, you will receive a field of heart that is like good soil. I hope that all of you will thoroughly reflect on yourselves, repent, and become believers who fell on the good ground.
