6. Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

7. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous for his thoughts, and turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy. Come to our God, and he will forgive widely.

8. My thoughts are not your thoughts, says the LORD, and my ways are not your ways.

9. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

10. As rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return to it, but water the land and make it sprout and bear fruit, so that seed is given to the sower and bread to the eater

11. The word that goes out of my mouth will not return to me in vain, but it will accomplish my will and prosper in the work for which I sent it.

12. You will go out with joy, and you will be led in peace; the mountains and hills will sing before you, and all the trees of the field will strike their hands

13. The cypress will grow in the place of the thorns, and the fossils will grow in the place of exhaustion, and this will be the honor of the Lord, and it will be an everlasting sign that will not be cut off.

6. Those who are taught, share all good things with those who teach the Word.

7. Do not deceive yourself, for God is not deceived; whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

8. He who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but he who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

9. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we are not weary.

10. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, but more to the household of faith.

Title: Those Who Sow for the Holy Spirit

Text: Isaiah 55:6-13, Gal 6:6-10

“You reap what you sow” is the law of nature and the principle of justice in the kingdom of God. Justice is the principle of judgment and reward. The order of nature is also the world order of the soul, because both come from God the Creator, the Master of history. ‘You sow beans, and beans grow; you plant beans and beans grow.’ “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7b). Human life is expressed as ‘planting and reaping’. The Apostle Paul distinguished two contrasting kinds of life. They are ‘those who sow for the flesh’ and ‘those who sow for the Spirit’. The results are also contrasting. It is ‘a life that reaps corruption from the flesh’ and ‘a life that reaps eternal life from the Spirit’. “He who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but he who sows to the Spirit will also reap eternal life from the Spirit” (Galatians 6:8). It's one of two ways to live your life.

“He who sows for the flesh” has the same meaning as “those who fulfill the lusts of the flesh” in Galatians 5:16. In the ongoing conflict between the Spirit and the flesh after being born again (Galatians 5:17), the necessary choice is to walk according to the Spirit (Galatians 5:16a,18). To follow the lusts of the flesh instead of following the Spirit is to become a “sower for the flesh.” The result is the reaping of “corruption” (Pdoran) from the body. It refers to the corruption, depravity, and worthlessness that occur when we follow the sins of the flesh. It refers to the disastrous situation that results from a severed relationship with God, namely, eternal destruction. We can no longer expect God's grace. When we turn our backs on the work of the Holy Spirit, the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) are already hell in themselves. It is the smell of the abyss (Revelation 21:8). It is a hell where the devil and those not written in the book of life participate.

A ‘those who sow to the Spirit’ is ‘those who walk in the Spirit’ (Galatians 5:16). The fruit, along with the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:21,22), is the ultimate grace, 'eternal life'. Grieving the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30, Isaiah 63:10), quenching the Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19), deceiving the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3), Temptation of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:9), resisting the Holy Spirit (Acts) 7:51) and the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31; Mark 3:29), etc., are the fruits obtained by overcoming obstacles. 'Corrupted' and 'eternal life' are contrasted. ‘Eternal life’ means eternal life without death, but there is a qualitative difference in the content. It refers to the most blessed state of life that the saints can enjoy by the grace of God. It is the core of the history of redemption and its normality. It is a different level of life that He wanted to give us even when He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16). It is the fruit of the love of God the Father, the grace of God the Son, and the comfort of God the Holy Spirit.

Let's summarize the specific content of the spiritual life we need to sow for the Holy Spirit. The first is to sow the word of the Lord (Isaiah 55:1-13). It is to hear and read the words written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, plant them in one's heart to gain faith and grow (Mark 4:20; Romans 10:17), and to preach so that they may also be planted in the hearts of others (Romans 1:16; 2 Tim 4: 2). The second is prayer life. This is the intercession work that the risen and ascended Lord does for us (Hebrews 4:14-16). It is the work of the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, by our side (Romans 8:26). Above all, we must pray for the filling of the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13). “Pray without ceasing!” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) The word of God is the gospel. The third is economic goodness. This is good deeds to be done to the servants of the Lord (Galatians 6:6,7), to the members of the faith (Galatians 6:10), and to the poor (Proverbs 19:17). This includes the spirit of offerings and almsgiving (Malachi 3:7-12; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11). You will reap what you sow.
