Title: The Suffering Jesus (Hebrews 02:5-10)

Contents 禮記 The book of 禮記 says that if it is turbid, it is imperfect. It means that the completion of the vessel or the perfection of a person's personality all have to go through suffering. Therefore, the more we undergo refinement, the better we become, and the more we suffer, the greater we become. It is no coincidence that no one has achieved a perfect personality without suffering and no one has succeeded in business without suffering. The Bible focuses on the one who was glorified through the suffering of the cross. He is Christ Jesus. How, then, did Jesus suffer?

1. The Fact of Suffering

(2) Temporary humiliation above the angels is the second stage of suffering. What it means to say that the Lord is lower than the angels is a word that affirms the fact that the Lord was a city person again, and it refers to the fact that the Lord experienced human suffering as a city person. In other words, the incarnation of Jesus is not for glory, but for those who suffer through human suffering and work to redeem sinners. An angel did not come down into the world in human clothing, but Jesus suffered as a man, and an angel was never reviled at any time, but Jesus was reproached and insulted. will be

(3) He suffered on the cross. Jesus, who became the city and became shorter than the angels, suffered on the cross for the last time and died. Here, the death of suffering does not only refer to the moment when he was crucified like this, but also refers to all kinds of suffering that he endured until he died on the cross. The pain of death is perhaps the greatest of human suffering. It is extremely difficult to die while screaming in pain in a hospital bed. How much pain and suffering would the death of forgiveness received on the cross be? The use of the cross as an instrument of death in Rome is because they know it is the greatest suffering. Therefore, we can see that the death on the cross is the greatest pain and suffering for the Lord. However, when the Lord was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten him, and he endured even the most severe suffering.

2. Facts made perfect

(1) He became personally perfect in the midst of suffering. John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” The Lord was a servant of the city, and he became a little lower than the angels, and he tasted death on the cross like a failure, but as a cross, the Lord created a perfect personality. If the Lord was not the city person, there was nothing less powerful than the angels, and there was no suffering on the cross, he might have preserved his Godhead as the Son of God, but his personality would not have been formed as the Savior of the world. The Lord brought great victory with patience through the suffering of the cross. Hebrews 12:2 says, “For the joy that was set before him, he endured the sufferings of the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Therefore, he showed with his own hands that tribulation is perseverance, perseverance is refinement, and refinement is hope.

(2) It is business perfected. The Lord is a city person because he does the will of God the Father. He said, “My Father has been working until now, and I am also working.” He spread the gospel by healing diseases and performing signs and wonders. The preaching of the gospel is to save sinners, and this is the only will of God the Father. That is why God, who is rich in mercy, sent his only begotten Son, Jesus, who preached the gospel to accomplish this purpose. This gospel has become the power of God for salvation to all who believe. The first was for the Jews and the second for the Greeks (Romans 1:16). Truly, the gospel is the power of God to save people, and it is sufficient to save all mankind. That is why Jesus, who preached this gospel, cried out on the cross, saying, “It is finished” and was able to die. Truly, the whole history of Jesus was made perfect by suffering.
