▷ Jesus entered Jerusalem with his disciples and crowds. Jesus entered the temple and drove out those who bought and sold in the temple. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those who sold doves. No one was allowed to pass through the temple with equipment. You taught me this. Was it not written, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples? You have made a den of robbers.” When the high priests and scribes heard these words, they thought, “How can I destroy Jesus?” This is because the crowd was afraid of Jesus because they marveled at His teaching.
▷ The temple is the place of God's presence and the place where God's people meet. In order to meet God and hear the word of God in the temple, prayer of repentance is essential. However, in this holy place, the merchants did not have any intention of repenting. This is a place where you can't do business. But they wouldn't have called it a business. They would have put up a title. This is a work for God and a mission. But Jesus drove out the merchants and overturned their merchandising tables. They wanted big profits, but they suffered big losses. This is because he would have paid a small fee to the powerful of the temple, and believing that it would sell a lot, he would make and explain a specific business plan and borrow a lot of capital to adapt the goods and equipment. However, since the business has been ruined, the loss will be even cuter. Since we disguised ourselves as holiness for dirty things for our selfishness and greed, isn't it natural to have bad results?
▷ This kind of thing is happening all over the modern church. Let me give you an example of something from the past. A certain church-goer moved in and decided for himself a church where many people gather. That person was the person who ran the academy. It was an immediate benefit. Others inspire such people. There are many other types of people who only pursue immediate profits. Sometimes, even the church does business for profit. Words are the work of God and are called missions. How nice is that to hear? But all of these are the same kind of burials carried out in the temple in the text. What would be the result? Isn't it obvious that there will be huge losses?
▷ Why did you go to a place where you couldn't do business? This is because they are focused only on immediate profits. In other words, they had no faith in God. He truly did not believe in Jesus, who died and rose again to become the eternal temple. Those who truly believe in and receive Jesus' death and resurrection do not seek immediate profits in the church. Rather, take the loss first and offer a prayer of repentance for holiness. Receive God and the Word of God. Of course, they repent anytime and anywhere because they believe that the Lord who has become the temple is there and is with them at all times and everywhere. do it from time to time. Because people of this kind of faith are united with the Lord, God helps in everything. The benefits become immeasurable.
▷ According to the words God gave through Isaiah, He said that even eunuchs will not become dry trees for those who believe in God and pray and are united with God. He said that He treats them with more respect than children and makes them happy (Isaiah 56:3-7).
▷ Therefore, today, if there are things we have fallen into selfishness and greed by focusing only on our priority interests, we must be able to honestly pray to God for repentance without making excuses or glorifying them. Then God will wash away our filthy sins, sanctify them, and make them holy temples of the Lord and be with us. He will make all things prosper and make our life of faith happy.
