Text John 14:25-26
While I was with you, I told you these things.
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
teach you everything,
And he will remind you of everything I have told you.
But are we living in the image of God now? Why? Ok. It is because we have sinned by disobeying God's Word. Did I say that the scariest thing in this world is sin? It was said that every day we sinned, we worry, we feel anxious, we hate each other, we lie with bad intentions, and then we steal and fight and kill each other. The scariest thing is that after we die we go to hell, right? Did our Heavenly Father, who loved us so much, say that he could endure to see us live and go to hell? So, there is someone in the Old Testament that Heavenly Father promised us to save us. Who is that person? Jesus.
I want to memorize the Apostles' Creed. I believe in your only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. It was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered by Pontius Pilate, was crucified, and was buried, and on the third day was raised from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of Almighty God, and from there the living and the dead. He will come to judge. First, we believe in God the Father, and secondly, we believe in God's only Son, Jesus.
Shall we all memorize Romans 5:8? But while we were still sinners, Christ showed the love that God has for us by dying for us. Jesus, who loves us more than our parents, couldn't stand to see us go to hell for our sins. So He took the pain we deserve. He paid the price for our sins and saved us through crucifixion, the most brutal method of death in the history of the world. We can be forgiven from this heinous sin and live as children in the image of God on this earth, then go to the kingdom of God and live forever. What should we do? Ok. I just need to believe that Jesus has forgiven my sins.
But can our friends believe without any doubt that God made everything in the world, including myself, and that Jesus died for me and forgave all my sins? Also, Jesus saved us. Now, are you living your life lovingly in a way that resembles God instead of as you please? Isn't it easy? There are times when I can't believe it, and more times I live my own life.
Today's memory verse, let's read John 14:25-26 together. When Jesus was with his disciples, he directly spoke to them and helped them whenever they were in trouble. But, if Jesus is not in this world, who is there instead? How to describe the Holy Spirit in another way? It's called 保 (Jekyll, helper) and 惠 (Gun-hye, Giul-hye) 師 (teacher, teacher). In English, it is called The Helper (Comforter) -Can I help you?, comfortable-.
Just as Jesus revealed the invisible Heavenly Father to the people of his day, the Holy Spirit is with us today, protect us and help us. And give us grace every day, teach us to feel God and understand what Jesus said. So, in order to believe in Jesus, whom we cannot see, and to live according to the Word of God, we must receive the help of the Holy Spirit whom Jesus promised to send us. Otherwise, I can only imagine God in my mind. So, when Jesus left this world, he earnestly asked and commanded his disciples to receive the promised Holy Spirit.
The theme of this Spring Bible School is "We are born again like this". We are preparing a lot of interesting programs, but the most important thing is to meet Jesus. How can I meet Jesus? We can only meet through the Holy Spirit sent by God in the name of Jesus. So, how can the Holy Spirit come into our hearts? Why did you say that we cannot go to heaven where we can live with God forever? sin. Ok. As long as we are sinful, we cannot meet God. When we earnestly pray that we will repent and forgive all our sins, the Holy Spirit will come into us right away. People who have the Holy Spirit come into their hearts and live day by day with the help of the Holy Spirit are said to be born again. This person can become a person who can forgive, love, and live in a way that resembles God from the way he has lived only for himself.
