Title: The True Christian Life/John 15:1~8
The True Christian Life (John 15:1-8)
Second, what is important in the life of a true Christian is the fact that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. However, if we do not live a life with the Holy Spirit despite the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, how stingy are we to the Holy Spirit? We say we believe in Jesus, but how many times have we lived in our past lives ignoring the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. For example, when King Saul ignored the Holy Spirit and lived according to his own will, the Holy Spirit left and evil spirits were possessed. Therefore, if we want to live a true Christian life, we must first realize and acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is in us. And we must live a life of constant communion with the Holy Spirit. A life of fellowship with the Holy Spirit is a life of prayer (1 John 5:14-15). It is a life conscious of the Holy Spirit. And it is a life where I open myself up and give myself to the Holy Spirit to influence every corner of us. When we live like this, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and live a true Christian life.
Third, the true Christian life is a fruitful life. The crucial difference between a true Christian and a false Christian is the fruit. So what should we do to bear good fruit? Today's text is clear. The Lord is the vine, and we are the branches. What is the role of eggplant? It just needs to be completely attached to the tree. Then it will bear fruit. If a branch leaves the vine because it is good, it will never bear fruit. Only relying on the Lord completely is the secret to producing good fruit. Fruit can be produced when we completely depend on the Lord. And when we obey the inspiration and teachings of the Holy Spirit, we will bear fruit. When we obey the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit makes a fountain of living water flow within us. That is why He makes us bear the fruits of joy, love, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that we have never tasted before.
Saints! I cannot live a true Christian life through my efforts and struggles. We must receive the Holy Spirit and depend on the Holy Spirit. To do so, we must remember that the Holy Spirit is a personal person and that the Holy Spirit dwells within us when we believe in Jesus. Therefore, we must not only live a life of fellowship with the Holy Spirit without ignoring the Holy Spirit, but also live a life that completely depends on and obeys the Lord and the Holy Spirit as a thoroughbred.
