Title: The True Comforter!
Contents
1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy his brother, to the church of God in Corinth and to all the saints in all Achaia
1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3 Blessed be the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercy and the God of all comfort.
1:4 He comforts us in all our afflictions, that we may be able to comfort them in all our troubles with the comfort we receive from God.
1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so also our comfort abounds through him.
1:6 When we are afflicted, it is that you may be comforted and saved, and that we are comforted, you may be comforted, and this comfort works in you, so that you may endure the same afflictions that we suffer.
1:7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that as you are partakers of suffering, so will your comfort.
1:8 I do not want you to be ignorant of our tribulation, brothers and sisters in Asia, that you have suffered exceedingly hard for your strength, and have lost your hope of life.
1:9 We knew that we ourselves were condemned to death, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.
1:10 He has delivered us from this great death, and will deliver us, and we hope to him to deliver us after this.
1:11 Help ye also by making intercession for us, so that many may give thanks for us because of the gift which we obtained through the prayers of many.
