Title: The True Life (Psalm 12:1-8)
Contents 1. The image of the fallen age As the text clearly shows, the image of the fallen age is false. (1) Today's age is the age of lies. Lying is a sin so serious that it leads to other sins as well. Lying was the first way the devil made man sin in the first place, and it has always been the agent of crime. All evildoers commit these lies. The fact that there are many lies in the fallen age proves that there are many other sins. Lying is the agent, protector, and nurturer of other sins. Therefore, lying has a double and triple sinful nature. (2) This is an era of flattery. Flattery is truly loving and is done with the intention of taking advantage of the other person, not speaking kindly. Flattery and betrayal are inseparable from each other. A flatterer is like a fox, making betraying people as easy as eating. (3) The fallen age is said to be “conquered with our tongues”. They make up lies and command that they can defeat our foes. False idea. A victory obtained by lying is not a true victory. Only true words and deeds bring true victory.
