Title: The True Rich / Matthew 5:5

Content: The True Rich / Matthew 5:5

Futurist and author Peter Drucker, who passed away recently, said that the present is not an “age of know-how” but “an age of know-who”. It means that it is difficult to be competitive with technology alone, and relationships between people are important. The insight of a scholar who is looking forward to the future is brilliant, but this principle has been demonstrated in the early days of God's Word, the Bible.

In today's passage 5:4, Jesus says, "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." ‘Onew’ is the foundation of all relationships and the foundation of successful human relationships and successful lives.

Above all, meekness is the foundation of our relationship with God. ‘Meek’ is the Greek word ‘praus’, which is used to refer to ‘a condition in which wild animals are tame and well tamed’. In a word, a meek person is a person who accepts God's rule well. It refers to the inner state of being tamed by the grace of the Holy Spirit by confessing Jesus Christ as Savior.

Those who are meek before God show their meekness even before people. Only when meekness becomes the foundation of human relationships can you lead a successful human relationship and a successful life. Today's text records that the result will be possession of the land and the enjoyment of abundant peace.

Today's text is a quote from Jesus, quoting Psalm 37:11, "The meek will inherit the earth, and they will rejoice in abundant peace." Let's take a closer look at what meekness is through the words of Psalm 37, which is the basis of this text.

First, meekness means not complaining or angering those who make it difficult for you. Psalm 37:1 says: “Do not murmur over those who do evil, and do not envy those who do iniquity.”

Second, meekness does not stop at just enduring and enduring reproaches and accusations that are poured out on you, but goes one step further and does good by trusting in Jehovah God. Psalm 37:3 says, “Trust in the Lord and do good.”

Third, meekness is about praising God rather than complaining or resenting those who criticize and slander you. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” It's hard to be a meek person by letting your interpersonal relationships come to a human level. All relationships must be brought before the altar of God's worship and prayer. Only then can you entrust the problem to God, be free from it, and be meek.
