Title: The True Service of Four People
Content Title: Four people's true service
Bible: Mark 2:1-12
The modern age is said to be an era of disconnection. That's why the wall hangs high and the door closes tightly. Why? Because it's scary and scary. It is a world where no one can roam freely. I mean, there's no one you can really trust. How many people find human life easier than the life of a fly? This is a time when you really miss your true neighbor. Why did the world become like this? It can be said that it is the product of indifference and apathy towards neighbors due to their selfish lifestyle. In this reality, the author of this text, Mark, is showing us how our members should have a relationship with their neighbors.
First, it was a service based on faith.
In today's text, the four men who were neighbors of a paralyzed person spared no sacrifice and dedicated service for their neighbor, the paralytic. But where did their sacrifice and dedicated service come from? How could they do this service? Verse 5 says, "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you." Here Jesus said, "Seeing our faith." Therefore, it can be seen that their service was based on faith. If so, where did their faith come from?
1) It starts with hearing the news of Jesus. Verse 1 says, “A few days later, Jesus went into Capernaum again, and there were rumors that he was at home.” Here he said, "I heard rumors"
2) It started with compassion for the sick. In verse 3 of the text, it is said, “People came to Jesus, carrying a paralytic on four people.” They say that if you meet Jesus you will be healed. It was the heart that looked at him and had pity on him that made them serve.
3) It started with confidence in Jesus. It can be seen that the rumors about Jesus made these four men convinced in their hearts. Verse 3 says, “He came to Jesus.” We must now pray for a heart to truly love them.
Second, what are their beliefs?
In the text, we want to examine what kind of faith the four men who brought the paralytic to Jesus had.
1) It is a united faith. In verse 3 of the main text, it says, “He came to Jesus, carrying it with four men. Here, "four men" are the true neighbors of the double-deep man. Their faith healed the sick man, and the faith of these four people is a united faith. to bring consensus It is said that four people came to Jesus on a bed, but it can be seen that the four people unified their will into one. When we work together with one mind, we must know that God is with us.
2) It was a faith that did not give up or become discouraged. The faith of these four people was a faith that did not give up in situations where they had no choice but to give up. Verse 4 says, “Because they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd.” It was a faith that never gave up.
Third, the result of this belief
The paralytic in the text was caused by the service of the four men.
1) I received forgiveness of sins.
2) You must know that He heals diseases. Verse 11 of the text says, “I tell you, take your mat and go home.” From this, we can see that when Jesus solved the spiritual problem of sin, he already solved the physical problem.
How many of us today are spiritually paralyzed people around us? How long will you let them go? If I can't do it alone, it's two people, two people, three people, if it's not three, four people have to lead. If you can't lead it by holding hands, you have to fall down, and if you can't do it because you're too strong, two people have to bring it out. If not, you will have to lead them to the Lord even if you pick up the bed. Then, he must know that his spiritual problems are solved, and when his spiritual problems are solved, his physical problems are solved by themselves. You should know that this is the greatest service and devotion to our neighbors. We must know that the Lord is waiting for us to lead even one more life today. Amen.
