Title: The Unforgivable Servant/Matthew 18:28-30
Contents Servant Who Does Not Forgive / Matthew 18:28-30
Those who believe in Jesus must be like Jesus. The Apostle Paul said that we must reach the stature of maturity of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the saints must continue to be holy and experience moments when they are not.
I always live as a debtor to God, but God told me not to repay that debt to God, but to my neighbor. Because that's what you pay back to God. Therefore, it is an opportunity God has prepared for everyone in our neighborhood to repay our debt to Him.
But because human nature is so self-centered, we see our lives being wasted at the best times, forgetting this and losing opportunities.
Today's Word of God points to us and teaches us to live righteously.
human nature without mercy
(Mat 18:28) And the servant went out and found a copper tube that owed me a hundred denarii, and grabbed him by the neck and said, "Pay the debt."
corruption of human nature
The sin that entered through the first Adam completely corrupted human nature. As a result of this, man was cut off from God and divided amongst himself. The human heart, deceived by the tree of good and evil, is now greedy for anything in sight. Money that should be used for the benefit of everyone has turned into a tool to make people sin.
Whose responsibility is this? If the root of sin is greed, my own small greed is responsible. There is no one without greed. Because the mod is a sinner. This greed insults the brother and puts him in prison.
corrupt human form
In the analogy, how does the creditor treat the debtor? First, it is said to be 'caught'. A corrupt man deprives his neighbor of freedom. They don't let go, they grab hold of them and try to obey them. Next, he 'grabs his neck' and shoves him. Grabbing the neck is a threat to death. In the corrupt human world, people are deprived of their liberty and their own liberty is also deprived. Furthermore, it kills life and sometimes loses life.
Our corruption is evident in our God-given freedom and life-destroying human behavior. We must remember that God never wants anything to be suppressed or suppressed.
life without forgiveness
Human hearts filled with greed obscures the sky and devastates nature, thus depleting the mutual recognition of human beings. At a time when the cleansing of our sinful nature is urgently needed, countless efforts to increase the flesh of greed are accelerating the break with our neighbors. They are killing their own souls without realizing how futile these efforts are.
A soul that has cooled down in love is dead. Forgiveness does not come without love, nor can it come from a corrupt nature. Those who do not taste God's forgiveness will only live a life without forgiveness.
Forgetting God's Grace
(Mt 18:29) The fellow fell on his face and begged, saying, “Have patience with me, and I will repay you.” (Mt 18:30) He did not allow it, but went and put him in prison to pay the debt (Mt 18:31). He was very upset and went to his master and told him all about it.
to forget and to remember
Our people seem to remember the little things but forget the important things. You forget borrowed money, but remember borrowed money well. It is easy to forget what was helped, but remember well what helped. We remember everything that exalts ourselves, and we try hard to forget things that are low.
The problem is that you forget something important. The more completely forgotten the sinful nature, the better. However, we must not forget that it even made us realize our sinful nature. There are certain things to forget and to remember, but you must remember what you have received and what is humbled. Because you need to know what you lack in order to grow.
Forgetting God's Grace
The unforgiving servant is the fool who remembers to forget and forgets to remember. An ignorant person who remembers only what is beneficial to him. He failed to apply his relationship with the wage to the relationship between himself and his friend.
It is God who indemnifies without any condition. Who was the slave who tried to sell expensively what he got for nothing? We are ourselves.
God is not pleased with those who do not shed a single sweat and look forward to the harvest. Such a person is a fool who forgets the grace of God and lives.
The joy of those who remember grace
Those who remember God's grace will appear in a life of gratitude. That is why we forgive our neighbors, and through forgiveness, our relationship with our neighbors is also reconciled. Gratitude, forgiveness, and peace are all results of God's grace, even if their contents are different. To remember grace, you have to think. It means to think about what grace is. Thinking about God, we believers call this prayer.
It is not a prayer to ask for, but a prayer to be willing to participate in God's grace. It is not a passive, inertial prayer, but an active and active prayer. Believers who do not want to think are satisfied with brief pleasures, but believers who think are happy with eternal pleasures.
need to learn God
an embracing God
Those who kneel before God will have experience. A God who comes to you before the words of apology are even finished. A God who forgives even the unforgivable sins of mankind.
A sinner is anxious about something and has an emptiness in his heart that cannot be filled. The law of the world simply separates the body from society and leaves sinners alone, but God fills even the uneasiness and emptiness, so he just grants such important freedoms unconditionally. Therefore, we must learn the disposition of God who fundamentally blocks crime.
God of holy wrath
Being angry or angry is never a sign of a believer. Believers are meek and humble people who always realize what they lack. However, if God's order is broken, believers must change from a priestly attitude to a prophetic attitude.
The wrath of the king who judged the unforgiving servant is the wrath of God. The wrath of the prophets for the disruption of God's order is called holy anger.
Worldly wrath breaks order, but holy wrath establishes new order. The wrath of the world obscures the gospel, but holy anger reveals the gospel more clearly. Human anger hides God. Therefore, we must learn from God even to be angry.
God of love
God is the source of undiscriminatory love for all human beings. Is there someone you love without discrimination? If there is, it is not from that person, but from God.
The God of wrath is also a God of love. It is an act of love to help us realize that we have been hurt by strife and strife and to achieve peace. He is a God who allows as much as he needs because he is afraid to sin with too much material. A person who is struggling with a lot of wealth right now may fall over the gate and not be able to get up. Things you don't need should be given to those who need it. This is because God's love is fair to everyone.
