Title: The Victorious Mount Zion Church
"Salvation and Judgment"
-Victorious Mount Zion Church (3)
Revelation 14:2-3
1. The Victorious Mount Zion Church (Salvation, Revelation 14:1~5)
1) It is a church led by the Lamb.
2) It is a church only for believers (144,000 people).
(1) It is said that there were four hundred and forty-four thousand standing with him.
(2) The 144,000 are those who have the sign of salvation.
(3) It is a church that sings a new song.
In Revelation 14:2-3, “I heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like great thunders, and the sound I heard was like those who played harps playing on their harps. They sang, and no one was able to learn this song except the fourteen and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.”
① What is a new song?
‘New’ is ‘kaino’ (kaino, j), which is essentially new.
A 'new song' is a song of a dimension that cannot be compared qualitatively with the songs of the world.
It is a song of liberation. It is a song of victory, a song of salvation. The saints sing these songs on earth as well.
After Moses crossed the Red Sea, or after the judges had won a war, or when David had won a battle, the cry of salvation was uttered.
Even the apostles of the New Testament era, when victory in the truth movement came during the history of the church, they sang and gave glory to the Lord.
The songs in this case are all songs of salvation, songs of liberation, songs of resurrection, and songs of life. In other words, it was the dog of salvation.
Therefore, ‘a new song’ means a hymn of salvation.
The “new song” is the praise of the new King in the new heavens and new earth by the creation made new in Christ.
② Where did you call it?
Revelation 14:3 says, “They sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders… ' he said.
This is heaven.
The new song is not essentially a song sung in a warring earthly church. The new song is sung in the royal capital of glory. It is a song of joy sung before the throne of holiness and glory. That is why our hymn also sings, “After this, I will ascend to heaven and sing praises to the grace that redeemed me with a better tune.”
They are praising the salvation of the Lamb Jesus before God and before the spirits.
③ What was the tone of the new song?
Revelation 14:2 says, “I heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like loud thunders, and the sound I heard was like the sound of a harp playing.”
‘Many sounds of water and thunder’ is a sound that expresses the majesty of God. 'Geomungo sound' is a sound that expresses softness and loftiness.
Then, the tone of the new song is a song that harmonizes majesty and softness, grandeur and loveliness. It is truly an amazing song of harmony. It is a song that harmonizes the justice and love of God.
④ What is the theme of the new song?
salvation of the Lamb Jesus Christ. This is the subject of all the glorious hymns in the book of Revelation, and the subject of all the praises in the Bible.
It is said that the Lamb is standing on the unshakable throne of glory (Revelation 14:1). With him 144,000 people entered, and their new song is unquestionably the Lamb's redeeming grace.
They clearly state the theme of the song, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb" (Revelation 7:10).
The new song is different from the song of this world. It is not a popular song, nor a folk song, nor a taryeongdo, nor a Susimga, nor a lullaby, nor a military song, nor a national anthem. It is not an impermanent earthly song that changes according to the times, trends, seasons, and times.
A new song is an eternal song. It's an Agape song. Because the theme of the song is eternal. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
His salvation is eternal. His blessing is forever. his love is forever His kingdom is forever. His people are forever.
Therefore, the song that praises him is bound to be eternal. So that's a new song.
⑤ Who sings the new song?
In Revelation 14:3, “… No one was able to learn this song except the fourteen and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.”
It is a song only for saints. Only saved believers have the privilege of calling. Shouldn't the triumph of victory be called only by those who risked their lives on the battlefield?
The 144,000 is a symbolic expression representing the total number of saved believers. Heaven is the world where the saved saints enter the world singing the victory song high. ⑥ What was the character of the new song?
This new song is an agape song. It is not an erotic song of family love, friendship, or sexual romance. When all these things are gone, it is a song of the world, a song of a stranger, a song of vanity and illusion.
But this new song is a song of praise and a song of glory, a song of thanksgiving and praise for the redemption of the Lamb Jesus.
Spurgeon said, 'We have joy as a drop of water in sorrow as the ocean. It can be a force that makes us look to the afterlife.’
F. J. Crosby was blind. But she was able to sing a new song in Jesus Christ. She wrote many hymns, numbering over 600. She confessed, 'I have enjoyed blessings that others do not know.'
Blessed are those who have the praise of thanksgiving for the redemption of Jesus Christ in any trouble.
144,000 people have a new song like this. There is the song of heaven, the song of eternal life, and the song of life.
‘Song’ is the best expression among the expressions of emotion emanating from one’s personality. It is one of the great gifts of God. It is a question of what kind of emotion you evoke.
For Christians, there is a new song that kicks God Himself. This is the original song of man, the song of the soul. Everyone who sings with this new song has evidence of joining the ranks of 144,000 people.
