Title: The victorious racer/Hebrews 11:1-2
First: The race between Cain and Abel (fight over the sacrificial issue)
Second: Enoch and the people of his time and the race (the fight against the sinful world) The stage of this race is found in Genesis 5. It took a little over 300 years. In the end, the match went back to Enoch's victory. God did not put Enoch in an evil world, but ascended to heaven alive. The secret to Enoch's victory is walking with God. Companionship does not mean going together. It is neither going ahead nor following. Companionship is sticking together. Enoch lived with God for 300 years. In John 15, Jesus said that you are a tree and we are a branch, and that a branch must remain attached to the tree to live, and when it falls, it dies. In any case, the believer must adapt to the church life and live.
Third: Noah and the people of his time and Gyeongju (the fight between law and lawlessness) The people of Noah's day were evil and sinful and evil, and God, of course, brought judgment. But only Noah and his family were saved. What was the cause of Noah's victory here? It was a game played by law. According to Genesis 6:22, Noah obeyed God's command. Noah lived according to God's law. When the ark was built, the size and shape were made according to the law. He put a pair of animals and plants into the ark according to God's law. If a player does not fight according to the law, he or she will be sent off or receive a foul. American sprinter John Benson won a gold medal in the 100m race at the 1988 Olympics, but was stripped of the medal after it was discovered that he was taking drugs. Matches that do not follow the law are illegal and void. The saints, who are the racers of faith, win by living according to the Word of the Bible. The Bible is the law of believers. Let's live by the word.
Fourth: The game between Abraham and Lot (fight between the visible and the invisible) When Abraham's nephew Lot parted from his uncle, he chose the realistic city of Sodom and Gomorrah, which is visible to the eye. Right now, the environment was good, but in the end, the city became a sea of brimstone for its sins and was judged, and Lot even lost his wife. Saints must be able to see far. Those who live in reality with a vision for tomorrow win. I hope that you will not become Esau, who could not bear his hunger right now and sold his birthright for a bowl of red bean soup, but rather become a saint who lives with dreams of the future like Jacob.
