Title: The Vision of Jesus
2010.11.7 Sunday morning worship service
Hebrews 12:1-2 ‘1. For this reason we have a multitude of witnesses surrounding us like a cloud, putting off every burden and the sin that so easily entangles us, and with perseverance run the race set before us,
2. Let us look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
-Amen.
Surprisingly, people live without a future. If you don't have a dream for the future after being born as a person, you are not living even if you live.
Modern Bible, Proverbs 29:18 “A people without a dream is doomed to perish. How blessed are those who keep the law of God.”
The word vision is used a lot these days, but the dictionary meaning of vision is 'the future situation, ideal. What should our ego ideal for the future be? What would be your ideal vision? I want you to resemble the ideal that Jesus had. So, I would like to share the message with the title of <The Vision of Jesus>.
1. There was a future of resurrection and glory
Shakyamuni uses the phrase “Nothing” in Buddhism as there is no future. The end for Buddhists is that life is futile. But Jesus was not a teacher who taught at the level of cultivating the way, but he came to this earth with the glory of heaven for us and with all his patience he completed the suffering and death of the cross for us. I did.
Hebrews 12:2 “…Let us look to Jesus, who endured the cross for the joy that was set before him…”
Because the Lord died on the cross and rose from the dead, we are saved, and His name is even more glorified. This was Jesus' vision. Our joy is the hope and joy of eternal life and the greatest future in Heaven.
John 15:11 “I give these names to you, that my joy may be in you and your joy may be full.”
Psalm 16:11 “…In your presence are the fulness of joy, and at your right hand are eternal delights.
Romans 14:17 “The kingdom of God is... but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
The word to always rejoice (1 Thessalonians 5:16) is the true word, and I pray that the great joy of salvation that you can only rejoice in will always be filled in your life.
2. Attitude to live according to the vision of Jesus
During the course of a person's life, they meet first their parents and then many others. Who you meet is very important. Christians first
1) We must meet the ancestors of faith with our hearts
The numerous witnesses who said in verse 1 of the text, 'For this reason, we have so many witnesses surrounding us like a cloud...' refer to the heroes of faith introduced in Hebrews 11. and also died. In any case, they are those who have won through faith ideology.
The Christian faith does not speak of a new belief, but it is transmitted according to the beliefs that the apostles believed. So, we make a profession of faith with the content of the Apostolic Faith. Just because the world has changed, you should not believe in Jesus according to the convenience of the world these days, but believe in the Jesus you have believed in since ancient times. That is the vision of the true life of living in the world as saints.
2) We must live free from our sins
When people say to believe in Jesus and have a vision, some people teach us to have a positive and positive mindset, but that is not a biblical vision. This is a psychological treatment that even unbelievers can do.
The Bible tells us to repent because life is a sinner, and because we sin every day, we have fallen and our souls are wrong. The essence of the gospel is to ask people to repent. Luke 24:47-48 ‘47. And it is written that repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem, 48. You are witnesses of all these things.”
Mark 1:15 “…Repent and believe in the gospel”
Living a life of frequent and frequent repentance is truly a successful vision. This is the victorious vision the Lord has taught you.
3) You must run while looking at the Lord as if you were racing.
Believing in Jesus is not an act of stumbling along. You have to run like an athlete running on the field. Agon to race (ajgwvn) includes fighting and fighting rather than simply racing or running.
In order to run, you have to “put off the heavy things and the sins that are easily entangled in them.” Just as a runner cannot run well if he has cumbersome things in his body, the attitude of believing in Jesus cannot be good if he is tied to the things of the world. You have to live as if you don't have it, and you have to live as if you are high and low. Don't rely on worldly things and look only to the Lord.
In verse 2 of the text, let's look at Jesus, the word ajforavw is translated as fixing in the English Bible (NASB), which means to be fixed. When an artist looks at and draws a model, it refers to the attitude of looking closely at the model. That means my eyes only look at you.
Many church members misuse the word vision and believe that all you have to do is dream, but that is to seek it wrongly with lust. A right vision and dream is to believe in the future of true joy like Jesus and bear the cross, and it requires an attitude of diligence like a runner. There are many people in the world who succeed, but many who fail in life. True success in life is achieved only when we bear the cross with a vision that leads to eternal life by following Jesus. I bless you and me who succeed by following the vision of our Lord.
