Title: The Way to Break the Spiritual Chains
Isaiah (110) The way to untie the spiritual chains (Isaiah 51:17-23)
1. Have a will
What is the most important thing the people of Israel should do after being exiled because of God's wrath? It is “awakening and rising” (verse 17). If you want God to liberate you from captivity, you must first have a strong will to get out of that captivity.
In John 5, there was a 38-year-old sick man by the pool of Bethesda. The Lord asked the sick man. “Do you want to get better?” The Lord's question and the Lord's intense eyes of love sparked the will of the sick to be healed. After reading that will, the Lord spoke. “Get up, pick up your bed and walk.” Then a wonderful miracle happened, as soon as he got well and picked up his bed and walked.
When you want to be freed from a problem, it is important to have a strong will to it. God reads the will and gives the answer. God does not work if you have the will to enjoy the addiction in a secret way. The same goes for blessings. There is no true blessing unless there is a vague desire for a blessing and there is no follow-up to the blessing of blood, sweat and tears. If you really want to be blessed, first have a strong will for it.
2. Pray to God
Man cannot give man ultimate liberation (v. 18). You have to stand up with your own will, but God will help you achieve your goals. Therefore, do not depend on people, but only on God and pray earnestly to God for the matter.
Some saints had trouble controlling their overeating problems. So I lost my confidence because I was overweight. One day, while reading the Bible, he realized that his body was the body of the Holy Spirit and prayed earnestly. "God! Help me to control my appetite and give me consideration, so that I can choose the kind and quantity I eat!” His earnest prayer was answered, and God gave him the power of self-control. After a while, he lost a lot of weight and found confidence.
Throughout my life, I have struggled with criticalism, lustful thoughts, a sense of defeat, an out-of-control temper, and many other problems, but many times I have been defeated. Still, if you keep praying to God with the problem, God will answer you in the best way. Prayer is the greatest force on earth that moves the hand of God. It is better to pray for 10 minutes than to worry for 10 years.
3. Don't lose hope
God staggered the Israelites with wrath and rebuke, but he promises to give them the grace of restoration again (verses 21-22). They also promised that the conditions had been reversed and that their tormentors would receive the wrath of God (v. 23), although they were in a very miserable condition as captives. No matter how desperate a situation is, there will come a time when that situation will change. Therefore, never lose hope in God.
Without hope, you become addicted to worse things. Without hope, you get tired easily, you don't know how to venture, you don't know how to serve, your life becomes monotonous and easy, and it makes the people around you tired too. However, if you have the dream, vision, mission, and hope that God has given you, you will have passion, ideas, and courage. If you look closely, bad things are undoubtedly linked to good things. So, no matter how bad the situation, never lose hope.
Someone said “Nothing in this world is impossible if you are truly willing to make sacrifices.” Do you have a strong will for blessings now? If you are willing to make any sacrifices with that will, you can break free of the dark facts that have bound you. Now, don't give up in the dark and focus on the little light at the end of the tunnel with overflowing hope. Sacrifice with hope brings spiritual freedom.
