Title: The Way to God's Peace
Contents
The popular word for several years was ‘Well-Being’.
Eat well and live well.
This has attracted a lot of people's attention to the extent that it has become a trend in culture, which has resulted in many changes in eating habits.
But does eating well lead to true well-being?
It's not like that.
No matter how well you eat, how much you have, and how much authority you have, it is of no use if you are not comfortable.
Today's sermon is titled 'The Way to God's Peace'.
When the peace of God is with us, that is true well-being.
So, what must we do to reach the peace of God?
First, don't worry.
Verse 6 “Do not be anxious about anything…”
Anxiety is used to mean a state of mind that is shaken by not being sure of something.
So worry means to be anxious with a broken heart.
Anxiety is like a boat that loses its focus and wanders, clinging to things that do not need to be worried.
During the Second World War, 350,000 young people were shot and killed, but more than a million people died of heart attacks from fear and anxiety in the fear of war.
Psychiatrists claim that more than 70% of modern diseases such as high blood pressure, hypotension, rheumatism, nephritis, arthritis, sciatica, and gastrointestinal diseases arise from anxiety and fear.
They even say that dermatological diseases on the face originate here.
Ex) check foot/moratorium syndrome
Example) Concerns of farmers who heard rumors of famine
People have tried many ways to escape this concern, all in vain.
Sometimes I've tried sleeping pills, drugs, hobbies, and psychological training, but that didn't give me a fundamental solution.
The text tells us not to worry about anything.
If worrying makes us taller and solves the problem, the Bible will say, “Worry!”
The text shows us how to overcome anxiety.
Second, pray.
Verse 6 “But in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Samuel Chadwick defines prayer this way:
“One of the devil's concerns is to keep Christians from praying.
The devil is not afraid of bible study without prayer, service without prayer, or rite without prayer.
The devil laughs at our labors and ridicules our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.”
The text speaks of prayer and supplication, but I will explain prayer and supplication separately.
Prayer has a deep relationship with intimacy with God.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing”.
How can I pray 24/7 without ceasing?
It is possible only when there is a deep relationship and intimacy with God.
What the Bible emphasizes is our relationship with God.
John 15:7 “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
close relationship with God,
This can be done through prayer.
Usually, the results of God's answers to prayer appear in three ways.
First, yes!
Second, No!
Third, Wait!
Example) Prayer in Rockefeller's Coal Mine
Ex) George Muller's Prayer (Boiler Breakdown)
Ex) Eunmin's request
A supplication is a form of prayer that asks for something to be done or something to be solved.
What we usually do a lot is supplication.
What is important in supplication is the will of God.
Ex) Hannah’s prayer/ Nehemiah’s prayer
Hannah is loved by her husband, but because she cannot have children, Peninnah is bullied.
Hannah prays for a son.
It's not just asking for a baby, but making a vow to give that son to God.
A son who had not waited for so long prayed this prayer and gave birth to a son.
His name was Samuel.
God had a plan to raise up a son from Hannah as the leader and prophet of Israel.
However, Hannah did not know the will of God and asked to have only a son.
And when Peninnah insulted him badly, he prayed to God that he would sacrifice the son he would give birth to, and Samuel was born.
God's will was done through Hannah's supplication.
Nehemiah is the same branch.
That is why we must meditate deeply on the words of Matthew 6:33 and pray.
“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Organize your words.
Everyone has concerns and concerns.
But we must remember that tomorrow's worries rob us of today's happiness.
The Bible tells us not to be anxious about anything, but it tells us how to pray and pray as an alternative.
In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will live a life of intimacy with God and a life of prayer that is worthy of God's will, and the peace of God that will take away your worries and anxieties.
