Title: The Wisdom's Last Prayer/Proverbs 30-7
There is a brief confession made by a man named Sufi Baya Gyd about himself.
He confesses:
When I was young, I was a revolutionary. A prayer to God was such a prayer.
"Lord, give me the strength to turn the world upside down."
I prayed for the strength to overthrow the whole world, and I worked hard.
When I reached middle age, when half of my life had passed, I prayed like this.
“Lord, give me the power to change everyone I meet.”
Because the world and the country are too big and they don't have the strength to handle
Now, even close people you meet, such as your family, friends, and colleagues
He prayed that he would become a changer.
But then, as I got older, I realized it again.
Before I change my family and friends, I must first be satisfied.
Give me the strength to satisfy the people around me.
Then, as I grew old and counted the rest of my life, I realized my folly.
And this is my prayer right now.
“Lord, give me the power to change myself.”
And again, an important confession.
“I look back, if from the beginning of my life my prayers had been like this
My life would never have been in vain, and my life would not have been like it is today."
close the words.
Dear saints,
Do you want to change the world? Do you want the people around you to be different?
But what is the result? Nothing has changed, has it?
God wants the world, not the circumstances, to change, but for the prayerful heart and soul to change.
Rather than changing the world, he wants people to change.
You have to change yourself first, not someone else.
Therefore, a mature Greek should pray like this.
“Lord, give me the strength to change myself.”
(When we change - our surroundings - society and environment also change)
Today's text is the last prayer of Agur the wise.
This is an eschatological prayer, a prayer that summarizes and organizes one's life.
A wise man prays like this.
“I have asked thee two things, give me before I die.
Keep away from me falsehood and lies; neither will I be poor, nor will I be rich.
Feed me only with the food I need.>
How beautiful are you? How clean are you? How valuable are you?
It is a pure prayer that flows from the depths of a clear soul that does not contain any worldly filthy desires. But what about our prayers?
Isn't it too cloudy? Is it not contaminated?
Are you not full of worldly desires?
In order for us to be perfect as children of God,
First, our prayers must be purified.
Neither the world nor the church can be made right without the renewal of prayer.
It must be washed clean with impurities such as the blood of the cross,
It must be completely burned with the fire of the Holy Spirit.
According to verse 7, the prayer of the wise man is simple. Didn't save much.
I asked the Lord for two things. I prayed for only two things that were absolutely necessary.
And the prayer of the wise man is an eschatological prayer.
It is a prayer that I prayed continuously throughout my life while thinking about the end of my life.
It is not a prayer that we offer only once or twice. I have dedicated my life to prayer.
“Give me before I die, before I die, give me.”
What is the content of the prayer that such a wise man prayed for throughout his life?
Feed me only with the food I need.>
It is a prayer that is reminiscent of the prayer our Lord taught us.
The wise man lives in front of God above all else in the world,
I was interested in "of". I valued living righteously before God the most.
That's why I'm praying for you to keep lies and lies away from me.
In fact, all human problems stem from vanity and thought.
Also, many people suffer from lies.
So, the wise man has an evil heart that keeps him at enemies with God in his heart,
I pray that you will allow me to keep away from vain thoughts.
I pray that you will not lie.
We also need this kind of prayer of wisdom that purifies our hearts.
When vanity and thoughts take control of our minds, our lives will become shabby.
Therefore, continue to keep falsehoods and lies away from Me. You will have to pray.
Do you want your country to be strong?
Before the nation has power, we must first pray for it to become a righteous nation.
Do you want your children to succeed?
Rather than becoming a capable person, we should pray to become a good person.
Do you want your husband to be successful?
True success is living right. It is being righteous.
It is living purely before God.
What we most need is life and righteousness.
So the Bible goes on to say.
In order to continue to receive the eternal life that God gives,
You should avoid falsehood and lies and set out on the path of righteousness.
Also, the wise man chose God over anything in the world.
I thought of the glory of God first.
He entrusted everything to God.
“Do not make me poor, neither make me rich, but feed me with the bread I need.”
Maybe I am full and do not know God - I am afraid that I will deny God because my life is rich.
Who is the LORD? - He fears that he will rebel against his God.
In fact, the greatest test for a believer is not tribulation or hardship.
When things are going much better than you think, you should be more careful when you are sober and healthy.
Prosperity in the world is by no means useful religiously.
Therefore, let us listen to the voice of God speaking through the wise man.
“The crucible is for silver, the furnace is for gold, and praise is for people.”
When our lives are rich and prosperous, we believe in a more humble attitude, with a more contented heart.
you will have to live
The wise man continues to pray.
“I fear that I may be poor and steal, and profane the name of my God.”
That's right.
We must not dishonor God because of our failures. Of course, poverty is not a sin.
But if we are poor because we are lazy, indolent, or sweaty, the problem is different.
God is not glorified.
To give something to others, to reveal the name of God
You will have to work hard and do your best.
“Maybe I am poor and steal, and I fear that the name of my God will be profaned.”
Dear saints,
God wants us to live righteously.
He wants you to stay away from lies and lies.
He wants to glorify God.
He wants us to value God's name more than material abundance.
He wants to entrust everything to God.
Therefore, we, too, should continue to pray the prayers of the wise man.
“I have asked thee two things, give me before I die.
Keep away from me falsehood and lies; neither will I be poor, nor will I be rich.
Feed me only with the food I need.>
