Title: The Words of Eternal Life
Contents
1. Words that begin
These days, when people are living a better life, nothing seems to spread faster than rumors about energizers. As a result, not only domestic snakes and bears, but also foreign snakes and bears are suffering pity. I don't know, no matter how much snakes and bears you eat, it's unlikely that you'll live over 100.
It is Jesus Christ, the Word of life that gives eternal life, that people really need to spread the word about. Jesus Christ, who is the word of eternal life, gives mankind eternal life after death, as well as the prosperous of the soul on this earth, and gives them physical health.
2. Encounter with the Word of Life
The apostle John testifies about the incarnate Jesus Christ as the truth of life, which has existed from eternity, is the eternal life, and gives us eternal life.
One day, when people left because they did not understand Jesus well, Jesus said to the twelve, “Are you also going?” and asked. Then Simon Peter answered. “Lord, to whom shall we go?” (John 6:68).
In John 3:36, it is said, “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son will not see eternal life, but the wrath of God remains upon him”; In John 6:40, Jesus himself said, “The will of my Father is that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
The disciples of Jesus, including Apostle John, said that they directly heard the sermons of Jesus Christ, who is the word of eternal life, and still vividly remember what they saw in person. In particular, the apostle John testifies to the fact that he paid attention and touched to emphasize the fact that he experienced Jesus Christ firsthand.
Plummer said, "This testimony is a refutation of the hypothetical theory, which understands Jesus Christ as only one Spirit and defines everything as an incarnate human being."
This testimony is also a refutation of the Caerinthian theory. Caerintus said that Jesus was not born of a virgin, but of Joseph and Mary. Nevertheless, Jesus claimed to be more righteous, sensible, and wiser than others. Moreover, it is said that after baptism, Christ descended on Jesus in the form of a dove from God, the Supreme Ruler, and after that, Jesus performed miracles, preaching the unknown God the Father. However, eventually Christ departed from Jesus, claiming that Jesus suffered and rose again after that. He even claimed that he was unaware of pain when he was a spiritual being.
Some modern theologians are heretics who claim that Jesus Christ is human just like us.
The apostle John is not simply talking about what he has heard from others, he is preaching what he has experienced. The most certain thing is the experience. However, one's own experiences run the risk of leading to prejudice and self-righteousness. In that sense, John's experience with so many people can't help but be that valuable.
Thomson said, “On the one hand, John testified of his own experience. On the other hand, he wanted to draw attention to the object he experienced, the life and mission of Jesus, rather than to his own experience. This attitude is the same as that of John the Baptist, who said, “He must increase, and I must decrease” (John 3:30).
Moreover, the role of a witness is not limited to testifying of events that have actually occurred, but must proclaim the significance and significance of those events. For the Apostle John, the significance of the events that took place in Jesus can be summed up in one word, 'life'. Jesus Himself is the life of God, and He came to give eternal life to those who believe.”
The Christianity we believe in is not the product of the contemplation and contemplation of some genius religiosity. Gentlemen, please believe that Christianity is a religion of experience formed by witnessing and proclaiming that ordinary people have seen Jesus Christ, known as the revelation of God. Of course, the experience referred to here is not a mere sensory experience, but a spiritual experience accompanied by spiritual enlightenment through the Holy Spirit. Without this spiritual realization, a mere sensory experience is meaningless. This can be well understood by looking at the Jews who saw the same historical Jesus, but did not proclaim or testify of Jesus as the Messiah.
3. The purpose of sharing the experience of Jesus Christ
Although John had the glorious experience of seeing, hearing, and touching Jesus Christ, the Word of eternal life, who came in a human body, he did not seek the joy of staying there and tasting eternal life alone. Like everyone else, he did not boast about his spiritual experiences once or twice.
Everyone, I hope you pray earnestly, diligently read and listen to the Word, and always obey. Only then can we know what the Lord's love is like and the power of the Word? If we first need to know the taste of spiritual fellowship with the Lord, who is the word of eternal life, and know the incomparable value of it, then can we not be excited and preach the Lord? Isn't it possible to live a life that preaches the Lord of eternal life above all things?
Among Methodism's world-class missionaries, Dr. Stanley Jones will be forever remembered. At a young age, he gave up both the honorary positions of university president and Methodist bishop, and devoted his life to a missionary to India and the East.
In particular, M. Stanley Jones made use of his ingenuity to establish the Ashram movement within the Indian church and develop it into a global missionary movement. Missionary Stanley Jones' passion, who abandoned his life, honor, wealth, and glory as a witness for Jesus Christ, produced many such leaders.
Missionary Stanley Jones wrote a book called “Christ on the Road to India” at the request of many people. In the book, "People praise me for going to India with Jesus, but when I actually went to India, Jesus came to India before me."
There are people who must evangelize, but are there people who do not seem to believe at all? So, are there times when you don't have the courage to evangelize? At that time, I want you to be convinced that Jesus is tapping the person's heart first.
These are the words of the sister of Mr. Oh, who was suffering from laryngeal cancer. “I did not believe in the existence of God because I suffered a lot of material damage to those I believed in. But seeing my younger brother go to heaven with the help of those who come to Sammul Hospice and volunteer, it seems that God is alive.”
Please believe that our gifts and abilities, knowledge and honor, wealth and authority, talents and skills, etc. are the gifts of God given to us to preach the word of eternal life.
4. Conclusion
Spiritual communion between believers who have the Triune God is made possible by hearing the events of Christ proclaimed through the Holy Spirit, not through sensory experiences of Jesus. We already believe in the Lord, who is the word of eternal life, and we are living a spiritual life while enjoying eternal life. Believe in the fact that the Lord works first to bring even one more person into this fellowship of spiritual life, and use our gifts and abilities, knowledge and honor, wealth and authority, talents and skills, etc. as tools for evangelism. wish.
