"Their Faith"
Mark 2 verses 1-5
2007. 1. 21 (Sunday)
The story of today's Bible text is an event that took place in the village of Capernaum in the early days of Jesus' gospel ministry. Four men tied a paralyzed man lying on a bed and came to see Jesus. But there are so many people that there is no room to get in. They took the bed and went up to the roof, tore off the roof, made a hole in it, and threw the patient down in front of Jesus. Seeing our faith, Jesus accomplished the work of salvation for the paralytic. When Jesus saw the faith of the people who had been carrying the paralytic, He revealed His work. If so, what were their beliefs?
First, it is the belief that we cooperate with each other.
They worked together and lifted the bed together to bring a paralytic to the Lord. Even when the people of Israel went to war with Amalek at Rephidim, they saw Moses, Joshua, and Aaron and Hur's cooperative faith and gave them victory. Also, the ark, symbolizing the presence of God, was made of sidtim wood, which was made of small and useless pieces of wood. The Lord is pleased with a cooperative faith. Therefore, it is Satan's work that hinders unity. We want our sarcophagus community to experience the power of the Lord through faith as one.
Second, it is the faith that overcomes obstacles.
Four men had brought the paralytic, but knowing that the crowd was too large to approach the Lord, they climbed up to the roof and tore the roof off the sick man. This is a faith that overcomes obstacles and a faith that challenges. To meet the Lord, you must always overcome obstacles and move forward. Like Zacchaeon and Syrobonic, who overcame obstacles and came to the Lord, I hope that you too will become people of faith who overcome obstacles.
Third, it is a sacrificial faith.
I pierced the roof of someone else's house, but I can't just get over it. He must have apologized later and corrected it. But to save one person, even that much damage was not a problem. They didn't mind the sacrifices and losses they had to pay to save lives. All you have to do is meet the Lord at any cost. You don't know how precious this kind of heart is.
What have you sacrificed to save lives? In order to lead one soul to the Lord, you must be willing to make any sacrifices. There is faith here, and the Lord worked on this faith with power.
Finally, it is the faith that never procrastinates.
No matter how you look at it, it doesn't seem like there's anything in a hurry to tear off the roof. However, their hearts are passionate that they must meet the Lord right now no matter what happens. This is not a matter of logic and theory. What do you think you would have done? If there was someone who wanted to pierce the roof rather than pierce the roof, he would have been treated like a psychopath. However, because we do not understand this heart, we need to know that we do not know emotion, we do not know happiness, and we do not know the power of faith. There must be a earnest desire to help unbelievers to meet the Lord. If not, we'll do it next time. Don't think like that. Here's something unbelievable. Because the next time may not come forever.
