Title: There is God's blessing over obstacles.

Contents

Numbers 21:21-35

Israel is in the process of advancing to the Promised Land, Canaan, at the command of God. It is a command from God. They are following that command. But at that time, Sihon king of the Amorites (and behind him is Og king of Bashan/33) intercepts Israel. Not only that, it was to gather the people to block the passage of Israel and oppose it.

That's right. The path to follow God's command is not always easy. There are always obstacles along the way. ‘Amorite’ stands there, King Og of Bashan.

Satan's forces have always been 'there'. Their job is to stand in the way of Israel. They do not delight in God's people on the smooth path. They sit motionless when God's people sit in their places. But when God's people try to march under God's command, they too stand up. Gather your strength and fight against it.

God's will is accomplished beyond this mountain (!). Let's draw a picture. I have my way. Satan's hindrance is in front of me. But from heaven, God's promises are after Satan's hindrances! God's blessing is beyond Satan's hindrance. This is the secret. Also, knowing it is believing.

Unfortunately, many of God's people either sit down in front of him or turn away. This is unbelief. This is the sin of the ten Canaanite spies except Caleb and Joshua.

But Israel, led by Moses, did not go back. They moved forward (!). They miraculously moved forward. What was the result? Look at verse 24, “with the edge of the sword they broke it” Yes. They were strong, but God helped Israel to keep moving forward by faithfully obeying his commands. Hallelujah, Amen!

Are you on the way to God? Are you obeying God's commands? Then you may have encountered an obstacle. What was your attitude in front of it? Don't you have the habit of backing down, giving up and going back easily and often?

Remember. Obstacles in your path to following God's will are natural. That is the time to move forward without giving up. Trust God and move forward, believing that God is standing beyond that. Then God will help you. Amen.

Israel moved forward. And he won. But again obstacles appeared before them. With only the name changed, however, it was the 'same Hanja' behind it! Satan. Israel felt fear in the face of repeated obstacles. That's right. It is difficult not to be afraid of successive difficulties.

God knew Israel. God knew Moses. He knew the fear in them. (34) “And the LORD said to Moses, Do not be afraid of him.” Yes. God knows the hearts of His children. He knows the fear, trembling, frustration, loneliness, and burden of the heart.

God cast out the fear within Israel by letting them know that He was with them. The cause of your fear is not because you have a strong opponent. Because they don't trust God. Trust in God and your fear will go away. It becomes bold. Then you will gain strength from God and you will win!

“Do not fear, for I have given the land into your hand, and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon” (34).

He tells you to “do what you did before” with confidence and with your heart. In other words, it means that I will help you, just as I helped you defeat the Amorites. It means that the God who helped you in the past will help you now. God is not just the God of yesterday. He is also the God of today and tomorrow!

What are our mistakes? It's too easy to forget God who helped you in the past. And it's too easy to fall into a swamp of fear.

God has been and is today. God spoke to the fearful Jacob. “I am the God of your grandfather Abraham, the God of your father Isaac, and the God of words.” That God was also the God of Moses. And the God of Moses is also your (!) God through the ages and today (!)! When you say you helped them, you mean that you will help them today.

The same God who spoke to Moses at that time speaks the same to you today. “Do not be afraid, as I have helped you before, I will help you now.” Amen!

We need to remember God who helped us in the past. And we must also remember that that God is always the same God. And we should also remember that that God will also be the God of tomorrow. “God is always the same” We have a time, a present, and a future. But God is always the same. So always help!

Those who believe in it overcome fear. Then we can believe in God's promise of being with us and move forward toward the barriers ahead. And you will win.

Remember these words: “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” Amen!
