There was only Jesus!
Matthew 17:1-8
Today is a really good day the Lord has given me.
In just two days, Chuseok is the national holiday.
Perhaps even now, many people are heading home.
Some people have already arrived in their hometown, and there are others who have already parted with their family members.
Anyway, it's noisy and good when the family gets together.
How good is it when you have a large family?
I hope this Chuseok will be a good holiday with the family.

How many disciples do you think Jesus had?

These three disciples are Peter, James, and John.
This happened when Jesus took them up to a high mountain.

At this time, the three disciples fell on their faces because they were afraid of the sudden change.
Then Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up.”
“Do not be afraid,” he said.
When they woke up, only Jesus was there.

We want to share grace while thinking only of Jesus at this time.

Why!
Was there only Jesus?
The first reason is that only Jesus died on the cross to atone for our sins.
The word ransom is a story of substitution.

In Exodus, Moses is a great religious leader.
political leader.
He is the leader of the nation who came to the rescue.
Moses was a man who had a direct encounter with God.
When Moses met God, his face shone like the sun.
So I even covered my face with a towel.
God brought the Israelites out of Egypt through Moses.
Moses was certainly a capable servant.
He pointed to the Red Sea, that is, the sea parted.
The road to the sea became like land.
When he prayed, God gave manna and quail to feed the people.
When Moses struck the rock, living water came out.
When Moses raised his hands and prayed
Amalek was defeated and Israel was victorious.
God gave the Ten Commandments through Moses.
God recognized Moses as a meek man.
Everyone!
God was always on Moses' side.
Those who slandered Moses, even the sisters, had leprosy.
Those who oppose him will partake of the earth and devour them.
A fiery serpent came out and killed them by biting them against Moses.

This is how God loved Moses.
Also, he wrote five books of the Bible.
This Bible is called the 5 Books of Moses.
We learn “how to offer worship” from this Bible.
Learn to “Love Your Neighbor”.

Indeed, Moses is a wonderful person.
He's a really great leader.
Moses is a representative leader of the Old Testament.

So who is Elijah?
He is a leading prophet in the Old Testament.
He prayed, and because of the sins of Ahab and Jezebel, there was a drought for three years and six months.
When I prayed again, it rained.
Elijah is a prophet of power.
I went to the poor widow's house and blessed her,
The oil did not drip into the oil bottle for 3 years and 6 months.
And 450 servants of Baal on Mount Carmel,
He fought against 400 people who worshiped Asherah idols and won.
One person vs 850 players.
Then fire came down from heaven and consumed the wealth.
Elijah was overcome by faith in God.

God loved him so much that he fed him through crows when he was by the brook of Grit.
Elijah also raised a great disciple, Elisha.
Elijah was not dead.
ascended to heaven.
He must have been a great prophet who never tasted death.
Elijah is a prophet among prophets.
It is a servant of power.
But Moses and Elijah, such great leaders, have all left.
Jesus was alone there.
Why!
Did Moses and Elijah leave without being there?.
The second reason is that the law cannot save man.
The law cannot save man.
So in Hebrews 3:5
“Moses was faithful as a servant to the house of God,” he testified.

Moses is the shadow of Jesus.
He is just a witness to Jesus.
He was God's messenger.
Everyone!
The same goes for Elijah.
He was a mighty servant of God.
He is also a prophet who testifies of Jesus as Savior.
Therefore, Moses and Elijah are not saviors.
They are the servants of God who testify of Jesus.
Because of this, they were not with Jesus and disappeared.
So, there was only Jesus, the savior.
Because only Jesus shed His blood for us.
1 Peter 1:18-19.
“You know that what went on in the profane conduct inherited from your ancestors
with the precious blood of Christ, as silver or gold.”

Only the blood of Jesus can save mankind.

// Wash away my sins.
// He washes away your sins.

There are many great leaders in Christian history.
Politicians and artists. businessman too. There are many missionaries.
There are also many martyrs.
There are many pastors.
There are many theologians.
also abroad. It is also in Korea.
Everyone!
There are so many people in the world who deserve respect.
There are so many great people.
But don't be mistaken.
No matter how much a martyr burns himself
Even devotees who give their fortunes are not saviors.
They are nothing more than introducing Jesus.
Salvation is only in Jesus.
Only Jesus died for my sins.
Why!
Was there only Jesus?
The third reason is that Jesus alone is the “Lord of faith.”
Everyone!
How many heroes appeared and disappeared in human history?.
No matter how much a heroic hogogul was, even his own life could not be saved.
But those who believed in Jesus would have been saved.

No one can go except through Jesus.

We will all stand before the judgment seat.
Then Jesus asks each one of them.
“What did you come here for?”
“What did you come here for?”
then the answer
“I went to church early because of my mother’s faith.”
“I also did choir.”
“I also worked harder than anyone in the kitchen service.”
“I am a sage. He was an elder.”
Then Jesus said, "You are not worthy to come here."
So what should I do?.
“It has come because of the merits of Jesus.”
Then Jesus labored.
You will be OK.

The road to heaven is easy.
It is thanks to the merits of Jesus.
This is God's grace.
God has given man the way of salvation, and the only way is to believe in Jesus Christ.
There is no other name.
There is no other way.
Only Jesus.
