Title: There Will Be No Poor Among You
Contents
There will be no poor among you.
Deuteronomy 15:4-5 06.07.23
◇ There are many people who are born on this earth and live their entire life without being able to function as a person because of poverty, dying because of poverty, and being marginalized because of poverty. But today's Bible verse says, "If you listen only to the word of the LORD your God / and obey all the commands I give you today / you will surely be blessed / in the land the Lord your God has given you as an inheritance. There will be none,” he said. God never wants us to be poor while we live on this earth. Genesis 1:27-28 It is a blessing that God created human beings in His image when He created them. Not only that, but "God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and live a full life." You did.
According to today's text, the people of Israel will be blessed in the Promised Land when they keep and do all God's commands, and there will be no poor among them. No one likes to live in poverty. The word “poverty” in Hebrew means “to lack, to lack, to be poor, to be weak”.
◇ When Jesus preached the gospel, the first miracle - Cana wedding feast - When there was not enough wine, he filled it...
Most people associate 'poverty' with lack of money and starvation. But who is truly poor? The reason there are poor people on this earth is because they did not obey God's Word. God wants us to live an abundant life.
As I said today, I pray that none of you are poor.
First, the spiritually poor
Psalm 107:9) “He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with good things.
A 'hungry soul' refers to the state in which the soul dries up. If we are weak in spirit, everything is weak. But when you become spiritually rich, everything is going to work out.
3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in good health, as your soul prospers.”
“Your business is not working, you are bankrupt, you have lost your job, your work is not going well.” Even if trials and tribulations and winds and waves continue, you should not worry. All of this comes from spiritual poverty. Please believe that everything will come true when you are satisfied with the Spirit.
Revelation 3:17 "You say, 'I am rich and prosperous, and need nothing,' but I do not know that you are wretched and wretched and poor and blind and naked."
In God's eyes, the members of the Laodicea Church were materially wealthy, but spiritually poor. That is why, because they are spiritually poor, they lack nothing of their own. They are arrogant, wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
Second, the poor in heart
Psalm 38:8) “I am weary and very broken, and my heart is troubled and I groan.” If you are poor in heart, you become tired, upset, anxious, and groan. When the mind is healthy, life is healthy and speech is healthy. When the heart is sick, everything is sick.
Philippians 2:5) “Let this mind be in you. that is, the mind of Christ Jesus … ” he said.
John 20 The disciples were trembling in fear, locking the doors in the place where they were assembled for fear of the Jews. Then Jesus appeared among them and said, “Peace be with you” (verse 19). He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit” (verse 22). In order to achieve peace of mind, you must first receive the filling of the Holy Spirit, the Lord must become the master within you, and you must have faith to entrust all your worries and worries to Him.
When a person's heart is anxious, he cannot get a job. We need to have a vessel ready to receive the grace of the Lord at any time, so that the peace of the Lord overflows and the fire of the Holy Spirit is kindled in our hearts.
People put what they think in their heart into action. However, in the Bible, there are two kinds of thoughts of this heart: the mind of the spirit and the mind of the flesh. Romans 8:6 says, “The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.”
Third, the poor in health
Our bodies are susceptible to disease. Loss of health is poverty of health.
Matthew 4:23,24) “Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every disease among the people, and news of him spread throughout Syria. People brought in all who were ill, those who were afflicted with various diseases and ailments, those who had demons, those who had epilepsy, and those who were paralyzed, and he healed them.”
What Jesus did when he came to this earth was to spread the gospel of the kingdom so that we could be saved, heal all diseases and make us healthy, and cast out demons and set us free from the spirit of darkness.
Romans 6:13 “Do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as those raised from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”
Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. This is your spiritual worship.”
1 Corinthians 6:19,20 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not yours, but you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.”
In order for our bodies to live healthy, we must offer our bodies to God as instruments of righteousness, offer holy living sacrifices that are pleasing to God, that is, spiritual worship, and live to glorify God with our bodies.
Fourth, the economically poor
Psalm 113:7) “He raises the poor from the dust, and feeds the needy from the manure”
‘Jinto’ here means the bottom of the earth. Even in such desperate poverty, if God raises it, it can happen. Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord has come upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, and has sent me to preach liberty to the captives and restoration of sight to the blind, and liberty to the oppressed. K and … ” said. When the gospel is preached to the poor, the poor will receive blessings along with the gospel.
1 Samuel 2:7 “The LORD makes poor, and he makes rich, and he humbles and exalts.” Even the poor, if they trust in God, God makes them rich.
It is also said that even the rich will become poor in an instant if they turn away from God in pride. But I want you to believe that God makes the poor always rich if they always depend on Him.
◇ Then, what kind of saints are you blessed with this kind of wealth? God is
① He gives wealth to those who give. (Proverbs 11:25)
“He who loves alms will prosper, and he who refreshes others will be refreshed.”
② He gives wealth to those who pay full tithes. “Thus says the LORD of hosts. Put your whole tithe into a storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me with it, see if I do not open the gates of heaven and pour out your blessings so that there is no place for them” (Mal 3:10)
③ He gives wealth to those who serve for the temple.
“And I will shake the nations, and the treasures of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory. saith the LORD of hosts” (Haggai 2:7).
Dear saints, To escape from spiritual poverty, mental poverty, health poverty, and economic poverty, and become rich, we must listen to and obey God's Word.
Today, I pray in the name of the Lord that God's grace to be with us, who overcomes all the poverty that we cannot overcome by our own strength, and makes us rich, in the name of Jesus.
